It's a list of Swedish songs in the Swedish language. There would be significantly more Swedish artists and songs with more streams otherwise.

Veronica Maggio is one of the best things Sweden has ever had! So personal, and different from the usually overproduced mainstream Swedish music.

Veronica Maggio is the Swedish version of Taylor Swift when it comes to catchy songs and being on the top of the charts.

She was never Taylor swift, but she was big around the time she dropped Satan I Gatan, today she’s pretty much forgotten about. She has some nice lyrics in a few songs, the rest is just boring radio pop. I like radio pop most of the time, but not the boring kind.

If you would have songs by Swedish artists instead of songs in Swedish this list would be full of Roxette, Abba, Europe, AceOfBase, Loreen and others.

This is a very misleading list I'd say - Spotify has been in operation for just some 15 years and does not reflect popular Swedish music in general. It would be more accurate with two other lists, which started broadcasting in Swedish radio in the early 60's. One of them was just for artists singing in Swedish and the other one for artists worldwide, some off which were Swedish.

As a Swede, I'm surprised how many of these bands/artists I had not heard of. And several songs I had not heard. But then I'm rapavarse, danceshy and electronicaavoiding... The fact that that absolutely abysmal version of Du Måste Finnas is on the list but not the original is making me wonder about what young people find attractive about it...

I agree somewhat, I have no clue about some of these songs and why they are even someone listened to them. like the ones from HOV1 and that Einar guy. But well diffrent strokes for diffrent folk.

This list isn't accurate in the slightest. It's a curated list. That's why you haven't heard many of them before.

As a fellow Swede who is not rapaverse, danceshy or electronicavoiding, I too have never heard most of these. But I suppose I also do not really use Spotify.

Veronica Maggio is like the queen of Swedish pop. She's the only artist singing in Swedish that has over a billion listens with all her songs combined on Spotify. She started in the 2000s and I grew up listening to her

Hov1 is pronounced Hov-ett, the number 1 in Swedish. Also Svag in Swedish is Weak, it's a false friend, an identical word in anohter languge with a comptely different meaning.

A few of the rap artists on this list is acually in prison for varius crimes from Stealing to murder. One of then was murdered in the Streets on daylight by others on the list.

I know it's subjective and rap is super popular these days and has been one of, if not the most popular genre for like 20 years now but holy shet is swedish rap bad xD I much more prefer like Eminem, BLANK, biggie, 2pac and overall the 90's rap... Timbuktu is kinda the only Swedish rap I can stand.
