British Shorthair Cat goes to the Vet

Coco has lost a lot of weight in the past few months, we took him to the Vet just to make sure he is in a good health.

Thanks for your warm words everyone. Coco is fine, he had a blood test and everything seems normal. The vet said that the loss of weight and a bit of grumpiness is caused by the arrival of a new kitten. Monty finishes all Coco's meals :-)

Coco lost 2.7kg 😔😔. I remembered when I started watching, he was 10kg approx.

These cats are natural chonks. Big stocky body, big round head. Mine weighed 17 pounds and the doctor said he wasn't overweight. And they have a very dense double coat so it is hard to get down to the skin. Fortunately - and mysteriously - they can care for it themselves and rarely get hairballs.

@@updownstate I was so surprised to see this was normal weight. I adopted two British Shorthairs whose old lady, sadly, had to go to a nursing home. I though she had overstuffed and spoiled them! 😂. They were beautiful gifts… they were so well loved and pleasant, loyal and loving. ❤💙

He’s only 7kg, then he’s not overweight. British Shorthair are usually between 5 to 8 kg. He’s very cute and gentle. He’s one of the most beautiful cats in the world!

He has probably lost weight as he now has Monty to play with and the baby to run away from. I know when I got a second cat, my older one lost weight. As long as Coco is happy and healthy then that's all that matters.

Yes, Coconut often makes my day, until I can get my new BSH. Sadly, life has made that a slow process. I have to fix the mold in my house, first. I will not expose a new “baby” to it. I miss my BSHs, Tiger and Chessie RIP 💐

I think coco wanted himself to be weighed!!! He walks to the scale and wants to jump on and then stay there. After the vet weighs him she says he has lost a bit coco looks as if what are you talking about I’m still chunky as fluff!!!!!! Hehe such a sweetie
