Kia Ora. Very interesting. The Mauser. 22 BSAs I have never seen :) In the 50s 60s here there were cadet clubs & the converted SMLEs were a thing. You'd see young fellas walking through town with them over there shoulders heading to a training. Gezz no way these days . The wood on your mk 3 is lovely. Have you ever come across Trade Patern mk 3s? I have one. No milataria markings & all correct as a VERY early SMLE .& it's stock has lovely woodwork as well. Lob sights cut off etc. Kind of like a longtom lee speed gun. I know nothing of trade patern BSAs ? There's a few around NZ & quite a number of Lee Speeds . Some full wooden & some very nice hunting rifles. Once again thank you Tatou for your videos. Always look forward to seeing them :) Ma te wa Chris

BSA produced a lot of commercial patten rifles that do not carry the Royal Cyphers and they either went to volunteer regiments or to foreign friendly powers like Iraq. Is that the sort of thing you are talking about ?

That's interesting. I'm really not sure of the history on it. I know that NZ were issued lee speeds in Rhodesia during the 2nd boer war to replace martinis. As they were VERY disadvantaged out there. Lots of those came back & were shortend and made into range patterns. Well worn barrels theses days . For cadets they last rearsnald them in lithgow in 50s. Could you in England as a civilan go and buy a 303? I was wondering if that was the case ? Thanks for your reply:) Nga mihi Chris
