Hmmm.....great song, guitarist is fab, drum fills are naff, bass is simplistic, read a Guardian review and their names sound a little too posh for me...middle class kids 'havin a go' but that's ok. Problem is the lead vocal....she just can't sing.

@Patrick Mortiere I've actually seen many many bands live over too many years and I've played (bass guitar) in a few bands too so I'll take that bet. The lead vocals may be 'fine' but that ain't enough really but send your list and I'll be happy to debate you. I listened to a few Snail Mail songs and live performances and she ain't great either but I accept that that raw indie sound (or amateurism) appeals to some who like that angst ridden genre. Music is of course subjective however my comments were on ability more than musical substance....and my first two comments were positive ones. I don't think I suggested that I prefer factory engineered music or even implied it indeed my current listening includes MONEY, The Amazing Snakeheads and Ustad Saami none of whom, I suggest, are obsessed with a level of production that degrades the musical content. The Orielles may be top notch for their calibre of music but they're not but my views on their drummer, bassist and songs are valid. You're right about my comment on their names so I'll apologise and take it back. Thanks for replying.

@Patrick Mortiere What do I mean by that? I mean she just can't sing! And are you seriously saying Yoko Ono can/could sing...are you kidding? Seriously mate, the woman cannot sing for shit. And I don't see why you can't have pitch perfect falsettos wherever really although I would accept the notion that there are many many average singers who have been successful...perhaps John Lennon is a good example. Glad you liked Snakeheads....try the live version of Mute Math playing a song called Control....it'll knock yer socks off. Thanks for the debate.

I have to disagree. The vocals are quite jazzy because it bends at the right moment to change the overall chording. Awesome performance and song!
