Practise your Everyday British English listening, speaking and pronunciation skills with a Christmas style video from a native speaker with a British accent! This video is perfect for Level 9 IELTS listening and speaking preparation, and also serves as excellent British accent training.
Today's lesson features a British short story about how my beloved Henry the Dog (mascot of British Education) saved Christmas day, when Santa Claus fell ill. The story is narrated by a native speaker with a UK accent. First, you will hear the story, and then I will ask you questions based on the text. We will then go through the answers together!
We will then move on to the British English speaking and pronunciation training, where you will have the chance to read the story yourself, and really sound like a native speaker. This is a perfect English comprehension video, which will improve your British English listening, speaking and pronunciation skills.

Why do you pronounce "the" is "thee" when the next word begins is not a vowel? Should it be pronounced "thuh" right?

Dylan I have a question! on page 18 I see "sparking smiles" but hear "sparkling smiles". And on page 19 I see "his loyal companion" but hear "his local companion". Where is the truth?)) (I sound like a wet blanket ahaha, sorry)
