Why did the Brits always have to interject some snide comment about Germans goose-stepping, but have said nothing about Soviets, Chinese Communists, North Koreans, etc. doing the same for the past 80 years?
@zackkilgore5282 жыл бұрын
Because the British press are comprised of Trotskyists and despite falling under the Menshevik umbrella that is sidelined and ridiculed by mainline Communists, like Marxist Leninists and Maoists, they are nonetheless sympathetic to Communist ideology.

Idk, its just them picking and choosing what they don't like

A fair point, and I'm happy to always slag communists, but two notes: 1. The Germans were Britain's enemy twice in the two biggest wars of modern, or all, times. Those other countries were, respectively, an opponent in a Cold War and two briefly enemies in an undeclared regional conflict for 3 years on the other side of the world. 2. At the time of this newsreel, the first of those two biggest wars against Germany had already happened and was only ten years in the past, part of the lived experience of most Britons, whereas the Russians were a distant potential problem that had only begun to manifest, and the other two didn't exist yet.

Also worth noting the German goose step here is much more dignified and less Monty Python than the ones the Russians, Chinese or North Koreans do.

its from august 1929- it has to be because the weimar constitution was adopted august 14, 1919 and the captions say its the tenth anniversary of the constitution
@user-ec7lt1wc3l5 жыл бұрын
It's actually from '32 Whilst the Constitution was adopted in 1919 the first "Constitution-Day" was in 1922 it was the national holiday of the Weimar republic.
What kind of cymbal is used in these old German military bands that produces that flat crashing sound?

this is the Reichswehr , the army of Weimar , a more subdued period for German arms between the Imperial and 3rd Reich military eras

I disagree, their marching may seem less aggressive in comparison at worst.

@ottovonbismarck77795 жыл бұрын
Lucas Wilson actually, you’re the idiot. When saying ‘’you are’’ as an abbreviation, the correct spelling is ‘’you’re.’’ ‘’Your’’ refers to something that another person has (example: Your gloves; your hat; your game, etc).
