What an absolutely wonderful film. The narrator is correct in that it is not possible to visit and ever forget - I visited Wales once as a child and it called me back in my dreams ever since. Now, I live here, and I feel I'm home.

Lovely words! I’m Welsh and I love my country and culture - if you feel like that, then you’re as proud a Welshman as myself 👍

Lovely film. I was born 5 years after this and feel that this was the best period to be alive. I feel sorry for my children, who seem to be doomed to a dystopian authoritarian future thanks to my generation's cowardice, happily covering our faces with rancid soggy pieces of cloth and rolling up our sleeves. Shameful.

A lovely Film, but it is a English point of view of the Welsh an English name by the way, they also got it wrong about the Language, it was spoken at least a 1000 BC, for the People of the Cymru because of DNA have Ancestry going back much further than 1000BC, to 6000BC that is because of the DNA of the Stonehenge Skeletons and others found at Avebury and in Neolithic sites in Wales and Cumbria, the Cymric peolples are as old as Stonehenge or Avebury and the DNA of people of Ceredigion proved that, also that many people in England carry that DNA of their Celtic forefathers especially in the North west South West and even in the Midlands , with smaller amounts of this in Northumbria Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, even Today in modern day France they have Concluded that the ancestry of many people of the Pas de Calais were of Brythonic heritage so to the Belgian areas, it was long known that Bretons were from Britain, but DNA has also found strong Brythonic same as present day Welsh in Normandy . the names in France are certainly of the Brythonic type " Calais Ypres Morlais Amiens Arras Cambrai Dieppe Carentan Caen Falaise Nantes Loire Rhone Girond " and many many more, Julius Caesar knew the Britons for they had lived amongst the Romans and Etruscans for Centuries at places like Caeri where there are many Celtic Burial Mounds and at Fiesole as well. I am from a ancestry that I can trace back to the 12th Century in Ceredigion, but the ancestry goes back much further in that area as well, I and my Father were two of the people used in the Stonehenge Skeleton DNA tests, they were quite forthright in their answer, my DNA is 95% Brythonic 2% Iberian and 1% Gael, which it was for my Father as well and nearly all the people who were Tested from Ceredigion and the Surrounding areas had similar all between 93 and 95% Brythonic in most cases but further East to the Marches and towards Anglia to the North and South the DNA lessened because of Viking and Saxon blood, but it was interesting that Lincolnshire had a higher Brythonic Value than Kent at an average of 46% , wheras the ones taken in Scotland and Ireland showed only higher Brythonic in the South of Scotland at 34% to 11% in the very south of Ireland. This shows that the Saxons had virtually wiped out all the Britons of East and the South of England, but Cornwall and Devon still had the Highest for Brythonic in England 57% showing that much of that Population are closer to the Welsh than English, there was only 2% Gael there as well. Diolch yn fawr Nos da Nadolig Llawen.

As an aged Welshman I had forgotten the truly ATROCIOUS pronunciation of Welsh which was perpetrated by English commentators in such tourist films and in my childhood generally. It's pleasant to see the country as it was in the '50s but, for the sake of my blood pressure, I have to turn the sound off.

Terribly English. Commentary is an assault on Welsh. Heaven only knows what he calls the anthem (sung during the eisteddfod sequence), but it wasn’t "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau"!
