@@RS-tp3uu - Why? Because you'd prefer it? We don't all think like you do. I'm an American and I don't like classic American cars all that much. They are over large boats with front seats bigger than the home sofa, that have gigantic engines which are never used, so they are gas guzzlers too, and every one is an automatic with crappy steering because americans apparently are too lazy to "drive" a car and steer and shift it. So you plod down a straight line highway at 35 mph going "BLUB, BLUB, BLUB" because the rpm's are so low only 3 of the 8 cylinders are firing. No thanks. Just look at 32 seconds in... he cuts off a lovely blue MG Midget... being driven by a woman. She's driving stick and a sports car. How often do you see that in America?
@RS-tp3uu5 жыл бұрын
56squadron I don’t think you know the first thing about American classic cars. Automatic transmissions were a luxury feature at one time, so the fast majority of cars didn’t have it. Some classics were gas guzzlers but a lot of them got 18-25 miles per gallon city, like the Ford falcon which could get 36 highway. I’m not sure why you think they could only go 35 mph, if you ever watched Jay Leno’s garage he drives them on the highway and goes 70 or 80 mph. As for 3 out of 8 cylinders working, that’s not even possible. If you think classic American cars are like that, the only one you probably ever saw was in a junkyard.

And Polio. And slums. And TB. And Thalidomide. And death-trap motor-cars. And routine corruption and casual brutality in police forces. And poor or non-existent safety codes, unhealthy working conditions, no recourse to justice or bail without money, teddy boys and rockers smashing up cinemas and seaside resorts, rampant nonceing in kid's homes and religious institutions the length and breadth of the country. Yes, we were poor, and abused, and malnourished, and poorly housed - but we were happier, weren't we?

@Abra Cadabra I think you'll find we invaded the third world _long_ before this.

@Abra Cadabra Evidence please? Oh wait, there is none because none of this exists beyond right wing extremist fantasies. Right wing terrorism is far more predominant than any other in Europe and the USA and most terrorist arrests are right-wingers. That's a matter of record.

This is considered normal driving in 2019! I've seen some crazy manoeuvres. Do drivers not realise what stop lines are for? I've seen some edge forward without stopping to the point where they'll stop the traffic flow.
