BRITISH PATHÉ'S STORY
Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.
Now considered to be the finest newsreel archive in the world, British Pathé is a treasure trove of 85,000 films unrivalled in their historical and cultural significance.

Fascinating to see the streets I walk everyday in this video. Some haven't changed at all, and some are vastly different. What a wonderful short

Seeing the past in colour rather than black and white is great. You see more clearly how little some things have changed.

I love this colour footage, it's fantastic, it doesn't look like many of the iconic streets have changed much. Lovely to see the boats on the Quays been unloaded, I think that part of town has changed so much now though.

1:37 "Noooo, what happened to the pillar then?" "A detail not worthy of examination or discussion" LOL. Jokes aside, I found this video extremely profound. As a kid In the early 1990's can remember walking the streets of Dublin with my mother on a weekend, This video gave a glimpse of what is was like when my parents were young. Awesome stuff. Also, ever notice how aul lads these days still dress the same as aul lads them days?
