BRITISH PATHÉ'S STORY
Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.
Now considered to be the finest newsreel archive in the world, British Pathé is a treasure trove of 85,000 films unrivalled in their historical and cultural significance.

I would enjoy it more if the videos were longer. I feel like a lot of them have been cut down from longer documentaries. Though some are obviously news reels meant to be just a few minutes long.

Excepting the shaving one, I wouldn't call any of these 'bizarre', but rather fascinating and useful - or at least useful tests. I suspect there turned out to not be any benefit from depressurizing the whooping cough victims, but still - important research, even if there are negative results."

@@jamesbizs I could not be more correct right now during this pandemic. Those with a lot of money are surviving, but there are some of us in the middle class that have had all family members lose their jobs and we're literally going to food pantries just to survive.

That last experiment was interesting about the driverless cars. Granted we've still a long way to go, but certain aspects have been covered e.g. cruise control.
@macnutz4206
@macnutz4206 7 жыл бұрын
There are several driverless vehicles being tested on the road right now with many miles logged. So far only a couple of minor fender benders. We are actually very close to having driverless cars and trucks on the road on a regular basis. A variety of commercial drivers are about to become jobless.

Science that was mostly intended to improve the human condition, and remove the negative influences from life, usually by small to medium sized companies that didn't have billions of shareholders screaming for more profits. Switch to today and "big pharma" intentionally generating as much misery as it stops, all in order to increase their sales and keep the rich hedge fund mangers and globalists in private jets.
