I have to say that from the official “In the Zone” album to her leaked or unreleased ITZ era songs over the years that didn’t make the album, listening to them in full makes you realize this is her most comprehensive, complex, mature, intricate and dare I say best album of her career. I’d almost say an equal tie to the legendary “Blackout” album. You can tell she had a major hand in dictating the direction of this album even though I’m sure her label wanted it to be different from the way she truly wanted it. Her creativity truly shines through on this album because it’s truly her at her best. You can even tell the songs she fought her label on to put on the album because they’re so far from what her label would normally approve (as in her label is so lame). ITZ is miraculous and its songs (official or that didn’t make the cut) are so experimental, ahead of its time, more hip-hop centered, and timeless. Her true renaissance album.

Miley has been doing what she wants for almost 10 years in terms of musical creativity, she also started as a controlled pop star and now she is in charge of her sound, they never gave that opportunity to Britney, Original Doll was probably going to be her "Dead Petz" and she wasn’t allowed to it, ok, she was 22, she still has a big number of kids in her fanbase, but Femme Fatale, Britney Jean, Glory? don’t get me wrong, they are great, but are something that any teenage pop girl could’ve released, it’s not normal that they were putting so much control on her sound, I hope she gets her freedom, as a fan I always have thought that is impossible that Britney gets to 40 or 50 and her label will try to push that 20 something pop girl sound. She is a legend, she could already be giving us her "Ray of Light" or her "Lemonade" but they have stopped her from it.
