Actually, it was for The Singles Collection and it was supposed to be a female duet. It got scrapped and it got mixed later with Lucas Secon's vocals, but this was done before Shayne Ward's version got released.

Unfortunately I don't think it'll ever see the light of day, unless Britney herself releases it. the song basically "exposes" her team and her team are trying to save face right now. If rebellion were to leak, that lyrical content would only put them in an even darker light (like thats even possible) and wouldn't help their case at all. Which is amazing for us and Britney but the point of these leaks are supposed to distract us from #FreeBritney movement and rebellion would only add more fuel to the fire I think.

I honestly don't think Rebellion will ever be released, the producer who helped Britney with, I think has passed away and only him and Britney have the track. (that's if her team didn't destroy the drive). Britney took a risk doing that song and exposing everyone around her, which leads me to believe that's why they orchestrated the whole entrapment.
