@@randomuser0483 People didn't realized how this song actually applies to her life, they weren't fully aware of what she went through for 13 years. A total performer/entertainer having all the exposure she gets but she only wanted what she couldn't have: Freedom, Meanwhile Dixie got popular because of her sister all day with their phones while "dancing" but she gets to film an MV with her Ex and keep in mind she was 19 when that happened, In contrast to Britney's life with nothing but stage, rehearsals, sing and dance. Overall those "cheesy" pop songs y'all were refferring to back then had actually better arrangements, proper lyrics, and a good instrumental rather than today's generic trap and no story behind the song at all.

She basically saying she’s stuck doing things she don’t wanna do and because she’s a Hollywood star there’s nothing she can do about it because when she voice her opinion everybody over talk her and say “she’s so luck” “This Hollywood star” but she’s not happy or lucky because at night she cries after the camera are off

This song makes me think of the saying "the tears of a clown". Someone who, on the outside, couldn't be appear to be happier. But if you merely scratched the surface of that mask, you'd witness something which could not be more tragic. I'm not saying the Britney Spears era was less fake, but there's not even a chance that anyone today would touch on such a real subject matter. I guess there's not enough "swag" to be gained from it
