what a lot of people don't understand is that Dubstep has no subgenres so Progressive Dubstep like "Mt. Eden", Ambient Dubstep like "pantyraid" and mainstream Dubstep like "Skrillex" all get lumped into one genre...Dubstep. They think it's the bass that makes it Dubstep but if you look closer it's really the 2-step rhythms.

Tis true. Technically any electro music that is spittin out a 140 bpm tempo with a half step beat is dubstep. Although dubstep is traditionally characterized by that filthy modulated bass, in all actuality it is just a particular style by the artist much like Skrillex's growl bass, Zedds Dead "yea" modulation, or Knife Party's Laser bew (onomatopoeia). The only reason someone could say this isn't dubstep is if they are brain dead. Killer track too!
