Girl when I tell you that kiss was everywhere it was everywhere. This performance upstaged everything and everyone. I watched the show live and to this day I can't tell you who performed because this was so iconic. I was angry Christina's kiss was cut for Justin's reaction. I'm telling you this was a huge deal back in the day. I was Jr. In high school and we were all shook the next day. Only madonna.

This happened on my 22nd birthday. I watched it before I went out to the club. Growing up a huge fan of Madonna and Britney Spears, this was like their gift to me. Such an iconic performance and such an iconic moment. And believe me when I tell you, this was something everyone was talking about at the time.

History lesson: This is a Madonna tribute. In 1984 Madonna performed at the first ever MTV awards in a wedding dress on top of wedding cake. She rolled around the floor and the world went nuts. She performed Like a Virgin and her career blew up. This was a recreation of one of the most Iconic pop culture moments which launched Madonna into superstardom.

Let’s get this straight. This is a MADONNA, Britney Spears and Cristina Aguilera VMA performance. Both songs performed are MADONNA’s songs. And the kiss was a MADONNA idea. There’s no Britney’s kiss or Cristina’s kiss. It’s MADONNA kissing everybody. If Britney and Cristina were “news” the next day it’s thanks to MADONNA. The whole performance is a homage to MADONNA first vma performance and not the other way around. Now I think everything is clear now.

@@ValenciaGamble I’m educating you about it. The whole performance was about paying homage to MADONNA and her first performance at the 1984 vma. The wedding cake, the weeding dress, the “boy toy” buckle, all that is a reference to Madonna’s 1984 performance. Madonna added the song Hollywood to promote her album “American Life” and she invited Britney and Cristina to perform with her. So, everything around this performance is a MADONNA’s idea. Only one who doesn’t know Madonna will think that this a Britney or Cristina idea, that’s laughable. Anyways, once again, I think I clear everything out.
