I like The Jets version cause they the originals and it's cool that they're poly (polynesians represent!) and they can sang BUT I personally love this version cause the way Britney sings it is with more emotion and soul. I can hear the heartache. It plucks my heartstrings and makes me feel some type of way... Also, stop calling people unoriginal cause they remake or cover other artist's songs. Fun Fact: this song was originally recorded and sung by a group called the Jets! It was released in 1986. The song was penned by Rupert Holmes, most notable for his famous song, “Escape” (Piña Colada Song) and produced by Don Powell, who was managing The Jets at the time! Holmes had originally penned the song for his daughter. Sadly she wouldn’t get to hear it because she passed away of a Brain Tumor (RIL). The song would go on to peak at #3 on the Billboards Hot 100 Chart in the US in early 1987! Although Britney covered it, I would still prefer the original (I’m sure most would anyways) but that doesn’t take away the fact that she did a phenomenal job of taking this song and making it hers! 👍🏽👌🏽💯
