She was pushed and forced to do so many uncomfortable projects from the adults taking accountability for her who clearly failed miserably. Look what they did to her. I love her so much I swear I feel like crying whenever I think about what she has and STILL is going through !

Jazmine Newark I agree! I think the pregnancy saved her in a lot of ways... and I wonder if she did it intentionally (yes I know Jamie was 17 at the time) because being 17 and pregnant isn’t acceptable marketing especially in the early 2000s. .... Jamie’s baby is her miracle child.

This song was written by Max Martin who is responsible for writing or co-writing 23 Billboard Hot 100 number-one songs. He has worked with Britney from the beginning, as well as The Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and many more. Even though this song seems to fit perfectly with what has happened and continues to happen to Britney, in truth it could have been written about any or all of the young singers/performers that he has worked with over the years. I'm sure he has seen more than his fair share of young people being used for the almighty dollar. It's not about protection or overprotection out of love or consideration for the artist. Sadly, it's all about keeping that money rolling in

This has always been my favorite Britney Spears' song. And as today, surrounded by all the scandals and everything she's got to endure and go through for so many years, its message is even more powerful than it originally was. Be free to live your life as you please, free to enjoy, to make mistakes, to make ammends, laugh, cry, say sorry and love as hard as you can. You still got a whole life ahead of you, princess ❤🔥 Thank you!

This generation now will never know how extremely popular, iconic and legendary Britney Spears is. In her prime years, she was everywhere and she was everything (She still is tbh). She was really groundbreaking. She changed the pop genre with her debut song and album. Many critics have countless stated that no artist will ever reach her popularity and iconic level. She is still the best selling teen-age artist of all time. She is truly the last superstar in the music industry. One of the Greatest Entertainers/Artists Of All Time. @user-ug2oz8fj1q4 жыл бұрын
Darvel&MC she’s so...bland though. Her songs are forgettable, she doesn’t really even write them much especially now. she’s a very cold distant person, dare I say narcissistic, such as trying to get her daughter’s name copyrighted. Not particularly likeable to me. I think she’s overrated tbh, and besides, she still never had the level of scrutiny and memorable moments as Britney did (e.g her iconic VMA performances)
@darvelmc90704 жыл бұрын
@@user-ug2oz8fj1q That's just... your opinion though. Songs forgettable? Are you kidding me? Blast Crazy in Love, Baby Boy, Single Ladies, Drunk In Love, Irreplaceable, etc. in any club and tell me people won't start dancing and getting down. C'mon now And objectively, she's one of the best damn performers we've had since Michael, Prince, Madonna, AND Britney. Yeah, I said it. Britney WAS great, but not anymore, and damn sure not like Beyoncé. Until I see Britney do what Beyoncé did at coachella, then we can discuss Bey supposedly "not" being able to touch Britney's abilities. Btw, Britney hasn't written A LOT of her songs, way less than Beyoncé has (she's wrote more than people think). Also, a bunch of great performers (like Britney 🙄) don't write their songs, so what? Are we gonna start blaming actors for not writing their actual lines now?
@maryammure51514 жыл бұрын
When she was asking for privacy in her songs. Yes she didn't write it. But she related to it. Britney always said you don't have to write a song to know how you feel it. She chose songs she could relate to it. She has said this many times and this is one of those songs. She is asking for privacy. She just wanted to live a normal life. The media were one of the people who ruined her life. Edit; didn't I tell y'all. Read my comment. I been telling y'all since last year and other comments many years she has been overprotected since she was young. She was telling people for so many years. But no one listened. So sad. @@aquarispoot from I’ve heard (tho I don’t know if it was a 100% but I’m pretty sure most of it is true or at least based of the truth) she always wanted to do musical theatre. So she started performing and the works to get experience and make a name for herself to get into music theatre easier. She only signed her record label to get even further and wanted to be an Amy Whitehouse type of artist but settled to go for pop as it allowed her to dance as well. The label pushed her to do a baby voice to distinguish her from Christina Aguilera because they had similar vocal tones (look at her younger performances like the ones form the Mickey Mouse club she had a deeper voice then that wouldn’t result in her baby voice naturally) but when she started to take off a be hit her management and family pushed her into the conservative ship. The people in charge of her claim she has dementia but really she doesn’t have dementia (it is a fact that young people can get it I thinks it a 5% chance but I’m not sure so take this statistic with a grain of salt) because the choreography she does on her live performance as well as the fact she is constantly working couldn’t be achieved if she had it.

True brittney fans always knew the meaning behind her music. This is just one out of many songs where she's being reflective about her life 😔

the last time I heard this song I was 12 years old, it hits different at 30, broke my heart to see how powerful she looked ❤

I was 20 as a college/university junior when I heard it for the 1st time and it hits different as I'm I'm my early 40s, especially knowing what we know as of 2023.

Nobody will ever reach the level she had during her golden era. However, this is probably my favourite song!

Elizabeth Chopin you are right, I dont't think today's generation understand how big she was.... And yes this is one of the best songs 👊

I swear, no one couldn't touch Britney at her prime. I repeat, NO ONE.

Lyrics I need time (Time), love (Love), joy (Joy) I need space, love I need... me (Action!) Say hello to the girl that I am You're gonna have to see through my perspective I need to make mistakes just to learn who I am And I don't wanna be so damn protected There must be another way 'Cause I believe in taking chances But who am I to say what a girl is to do? God, I need some answers What am I to do with my life? (You will find it out, don't worry) How am I supposed to know what's right? (You just gotta do it your way) I can't help the way I feel But my life has been so overprotected I'll tell 'em what I like, what I want, and what I don't But every time I do, I stand corrected Things that I've been told I can't believe what I hear about the world I realize I'm overprotected There must be another way 'Cause I believe in taking chances But who am I to say what a girl is to do? God, I need some answers What am I to do with my life? (You will find it out, don't worry) How am I supposed to know what's right? (You just gotta do it your way) I can't help the way I feel (Help the way I feel) But my life has been so overprotected I need time, love I need space (This is it, this is it) I don't need nobody telling me just what I wanna What I, what, what, what I'm gonna (I need) do about my destiny I say no, no, nobody's telling me just what I wanna do, do I'm so fed up with people telling me to be someone else but me (Action!) What am I to do with my life? (You will find it out, don't worry) How am I supposed to know what's right? (You just gotta do it your way) I can't help the way I feel But my life has been so overprotected I don't need nobody telling me just what I wanna What I, what, what, what I'm gonna do about my destiny I say no, no, nobody's telling me just what I wanna do, do I'm so fed up with people telling me to be someone else but me What am I to do with my life? (You will find it out, don't worry) How am I supposed to know what's right? (You just gotta do it your way) I can't help the way I feel (Help the way I feel) But my life has been so overprotected

Britney is really really pretty way back then, plus talented.. really sad for the things that happened to her, people abusing her.. hopefully she can be happy.
