I was at this concert with John Farnham, Anthony Warlow and Olivia Newton-John and it was absolutely amazing. The fun and the chemistry between them was just great. I’m sure you would really enjoy more of the concert which was called The Main Event. John and Olivia sing a beautiful song called Please don’t ask me, which is particularly poignant now that Olivia has gone and John is recovering from cancer.❤️

Anthony Warlow is an Opera singer who starred in Phantom here in Australia. John was the lead in the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar surrounded by a huge cast of local talent. His version of Gethsemane is epic. Other performers in JCS were Jon Stevens (Judas) and Kate Ceberano ( Mary Magdalene) which were also stand out performances.

Been looking forward to this one. Just looking at the number of people in the audience ...that was pretty standard for John. Didn't matter what size venue he used ...it would be booked out. He often had to add extra shows to meet demand. Even in his sixties and seventies he could fill arenas. And even though we all know he will probably never perform publicly again. I'm sure if he did do another concert it would be sold out in minutes. He is just that popular. Even to this day. Surprisingly there was a time in the late 70's and early 80's after his mega stardom as a teen pop idol in the late 60's to mid 70's (King of Pop in Aus 5 years in a row ) that he struggled to get anyone to come along. He was considered too squeaky clean for a while. But he has always had that voice and with great management he brushed off the teeny popper cobwebs and emerged as a super star for a second time and eventually the mega star that he still is today

Anthony Warlow was a major figure in Australian theatre, because he really helped mainstream opera in this country. He was so charismatic and down to earth he drew massive audiences to his shows.

Great reaction guys. It was a long show featuring 3 of Australia's best. Olivia Newton John, John Farnham and Anthony Warlow. Each sang a duet with each other and there was also 3 person performance. Loved when they added these unusual and at time comical performances to the show. called The Main Event. Sold out Australia wide of course. My recommendation would be John 's performance of 'Gethsemane' on the final night of Jesus Christ Superstar. His performance as Jesus is sensational. the passion, the emotion, just leaves you open mouthed in amazement. 😲💞

I saw this live. It was as spectacular as you can imagine. I went with my Daddy and my best friend from high school. 35 years on it is still one of the most memorable live performances I’ve experienced ❤️

This is from the Main Event series of concerts where John, Anthony Warlow and Olivia Newton John performed solo, in duo in trio a number of their individual hits. Anthony is classically trained and has been in a number of musical stage shows such as Phantom and Dr Jekyl. This was obviously a knock around performance with John’s role to be the clown to Anthony’s polish. Anthony is a cancer survivor and you saw his versatility with his excellent Spencer impersonation. John and Olivia perform John’s song, Please Don’t Ask Me as part of this concert and it is PERFECT. Wonderful concert by 3 of Australia’s superb vocalists. PS: John doesn’t sing rap!!!

I don’t think any genre of music is out of John’s comfort zone. I told you they were funny but they can really sing. Anthony is Opera and has the lead in every great stage musical there is. John and Olivia toured with him for three months when he was coming back from cancer treatment. Before his Treatment Anthony had really nice hair. They told him it would come back thicker and curly, it never came back and no one cares. They are all good people. Anyone who went to the Main Event Concert always booked again, some three time because it was so much fun. The whole concert is on KZbin and one day I will watch it again. Thank you.

LoL I just discovered this reaction - no doubt everything that can be said has already been said, including John's battle with cancer. What might not have been said is that Anthony Warlow's appearance was uncertain because of his own battle with brain cancer, and I believe this concert wasn't long after his chemotherapy treatment. Thankfully he is still in remission and singing up a storm somewhere on the planet. I'm also happy to say that latest reports from John's family are that he is also doing very well.
