Yes. A standard in our school lunch bags. Seems like they were about $1 per package of 8-10 at the time. I had friends (twin sisters) in elementary school whose dad worked for Hostess. They had 'day old' Hostess snacks; Twinkies, snoballs, zingers, etc. in their lunches. They were happy to swap with them for whatever Little Debbie snack was in my bag. 😆 I thought I got the better end of the bargain.

I don’t know if anyone has said this, but the founder of Little Debbie named the company after his granddaughter. She runs the company today. And unlike what one commenter said, many of us do buy these so we have snacks around the house. I don’t have anyone to pack a lunch for anymore, but I stock up my snack basket on my island once a month. My favorites are the Star Crunch and the Devil Cremes, which I don’t think you had. My husband loves the oatmeal cakes. If you’re craving something sweet, this is just enough to satisfy.

Fudge Rounds were a favorite treat that My Grandmother and I enjoyed together. She kept multiple boxes all the time so She NEVER ran out. Granny passed in 2011 and I still enjoy them now and I always think of Her.

When I was about 22 I worked with a friend of mine. We were both starving Musicians & we were doing landscaping for a client & his neighbor loved our work so she hired us to make over her yard. She lived in this huge amazing Log cabin style home in the Mountain town of Bountiful, Utah. We worked for them for about a month & got to be friends with them...We'd drink wine & Whiskey & sing Karaoke in their living room. One day she gave us like 4 boxes of assorted little debbie snacks & then revealed the she was the Little Girl on the little Debbie Boxes. She still helps run the company. Her & her husband were awesome folks!! My favorites are the Nutty Buddy & the Strawberry Rolls!!!

I love Little Debbies snacks. These used to be what we'd get in a brown paper bag for a field trip (along with a CAN of Coke). It was sort of like a status symbol. If you had Swiss cake rolls then you were one of the cool kids. I don't eat many of these anymore because they're a ton of sugar, but around the holidays I still buy a few boxes of the Christmas tree cakes. They're very similar to the Zebra cakes, but they look festive (in the shape of a Christmas tree) and have some green sugar sprinkled on top. They remind me of my childhood so I still eat some around the holidays even as an adult. The nostalgia is too much for me to overcome.

Someday, try the Swiss Cake rolls frozen. Yummy. I never had these as a kid. My mom put dried apricots in my lunch for desert. I didn't try them until grad school. I did my grad work in Houston. Our lab office shared a single 1.5 cft fridge between 10 grad students and potdocs. There was never room in the fridge for my lunch and our office space was hot in the summer. I kept my Swiss Cake rolls in freezer so that the chocolate would still be set at lunch time.

My favorites are the Peanut Butter "Nutty Buddies" and "Swiss Roll" Many countries outside of the United States are not allowed to sell the Swiss Roll because it has the "red dye" that many European Countries ban in their country. Owned by a single family singe the original owner started selling the Oatmeal creme pies from the back of his truck for a nickle a piece starting in the 20's or 30's. Enjoy!!!

I love the Star Crunch, then Oatmeal Creme Pies, the Nutty Buddy, Zebra Cakes, and the Fudge Rounds...I don't see the HoHo's... but maybe you have them in the back. They are the chocolate cake rolls with the white cream filling. Those, CHILLED in the fridge, THE BEST!! Those chocolate cream cake rolls and the nutty buttys are best if they are cold, straight out of the fridge. YEP, right after I finished typing this you pulled out the Swiss Rolls!! Best cold, but those are my favorites! I've been trying to do keto/carnivore for almost a year now (not having very much success) so I can't even tell you when I had any little debbie cakes last, but OH!! watching this video makes me want one, that is for sure!

Nutty buddies has been and still is my favorite Lil Debbie’s snack for over 55 years. They used to be creamier, but like most American snacks and packaged foods, the taste changed when hydrogenated fat was removed nationwide for health reasons.

Replace some of the liquid called for in recipes with pureéd zucchini, cauliflower etc. She and you, won't notice zucchini pureé or cauliflower in brownies. Beets in a red velvet cake.
