I am from Düsseldorf (home of the Altbier) This is Kölsch the typical beer from cologne, not Altbier, Altbier is dark and has a completely different taste. But the food is basically the same and delicious. Especially the Mettbrötchen ❤ If you ever visit Düsseldorf you have to got to “Füchschen Brauerei (Brewery)” at Ratinger Straße ❤

Since I can remember, I eat Mettbrötchen frequently ... since 40+ years now! Mett + salt + pepper + onions on a Brötchen = delicious! If you have a chance to try it, do it! You won't regret it! :) *prost

I, too. Too much Onion for my taste and i prefer fresh mealed Pepper. Because of the "potential" Risk it has here are hard rules here, how to handle it. Even the Pig is controlled thru his Live.

First of all: I love your videos really much. secondly, they didn't drink Altbier, they drank Kölsch, that's something totally different. Altbier is dark and comes from Düsseldorf and Kölsch is a pale,very light beer from Cologne and to order the rival-beer in one of these cities would lead to hard punishment by the waiters and locals for sure... 😀

I once was with a bunch of Swiss customers in a brewery pub in the heart of the Düsseldorf old town. Suddenly, one of the customers asked the waiter "Ich hätte gerne ein Kölsch." If looks could kill, we would have lost a customer right then and there....

In my view the Mettbrötchen have got too much onion-cubes on it. By the way Mett has to be sold on the day the pork has been slaughtered. So no problem to eat it raw. It is spiced with salt and pepper.

Altbier is drunken in Düsseldorf, in Colonia they drink stuff they think is beer...

the difference that the people of Cologne insist is that it is a different beer is because the malt in the Düsseldorf Altbier is roasted, but both types are brewed the "OLD WAY" (traditionally) and that is what Altbier (Oldbeer) gets its name from and that essentially refers to the fact that the old way of brewing uses yeast that floats to the top during the brewing process, while "modern" beers are bottom-fermented. and "Kölsch" as a "type" has only existed since the 1918, when a marketing campaign was launched to make the beer easier to sell. of course with "technical requirements" and a "design protection tm" to guarantee that "Kölsch" can only come from Cologne. and we Düsseldorfers and Cologners "fight" each other out of tradition, to tease each other for fun
