The popular theory going around the Internet is that the reason they aren't giving the date is they're not going to announce ahead of time, they're just gonna drop it on us and say "ok, it's out RIGHT NOW". While that probably doesn't make a good marketing strategy for all of their shows, doing it every once in a while would be pretty cool :)

Patrick Egan my guess is they did that because with so many people wanting to check the show at the same time the Netflix internet connection probably get slower and if that happens there's a lot of buffering happening throughout one episode and and even when the buffering ends the quality of the episode is foggy for like a minute or two, this can make it hard on a viewer to get through one episode. I'm sure they get a lot of complaints from the previous marvel shows, so doing this would be a smart idea because the issue that brings about these problems has to do with the fact that many people do not want to watch the show at the release at midnight, so most people will wait till the morning or noon to afternoon.
