God's Country. Must be nice to be able to go there. My family vacationed in Britt and area from 1947 to 2004. My parents were best friends with Bill and Ester Barclay from Dayton, Ohio who in 1947 bought land there for $1.00 per acre. They owned and ran Camp Barclay which became Georgian Cottages which I think is also now gone. I probably wouldnt even know most of the place if I visited again. We were good and lifelong friends with the entire town! Circa 1950's until the 1990's. We spoke to all via telephone every few weeks and for decades, until our awaited arrival there for our 5 week vacation every year.... The Lacosses, Lawlors, Bouchers, Compos, Smalls, The Rudolphs, Begins.....too many to name. I have 1000's of photos and decades of memories. I can still smell the air and feel the breezes on the Georgian Bay if I try...... but can barely afford to leave my driveway in todays America. I miss it there more than I can tell. God's Country.
