Another way to think of Herberden's and Bouchard's is H is distal (DIP) to the start of the alphabet where B is proximal (PIP) to the start. Also important to know to are specific lumbar root findings: L3-L4 - will have quadricep weakness with diminished or absent patellar reflexes. Screening for L3-L4 includes squat test. L4-L5 - will have weakness or dorsiflexion of great toe and foot, pain radiating to lateral calf, or numbness of dorsum of foot and/or lateral calf. Screening test includes having patient walk on heels. L5-S1 - will have plantar flexion of great toe and foot with diminished or absent achilles reflex, pain along buttocks, numbness to lateral foot and/or posterior calf. Screening test includes having patient walk on toes. Hope this is helpful to someone!

Thank you for making these videos! I am doing the Walden Crash Course and she said acetaminophen is first-line for OA. Is that for mild OA and then you move up to NSAIDS for moderate or severe?
