We spent almost a week in Esperance, further along the coast from Yallingup, when we were on our western Australian adventure a few years ago. And like almost everywhere we stayed the accommodation was, like yours, quiet, unpretentious, and lovely. We kept pronouncing Esperance like the French do, and locals would laugh and say “No, it’s S-prince.” One guy even said , “You Canadians… you’re SO French.” 😂 Every winter we sigh and wonder if we should maybe head back down under again. Loved hearing about your trip.

My husband and I were staying in Busselton last week and did day trips down to Yallingup, Eagle Bay, Meelup, Dunsborough and my favourite beach Bunker Bay. We live in Perth but got married in Yallingup 21 years ago. It’s a stunning part of the world. Glad you enjoyed it. 💗 BTW unlike the UK, Australia is surrounded by oceans. You were looking out at the Indian Ocean. We have the Tasman Sea which is the stretch of water between Victoria and Tasmania. Our friends and family from the UK always say sea as well. 😆
