This is the first of your videos I've watched, and I was already feeling the love but then you quoted freaking The Emporer's New Groove??? 🥰 You're a real one. I had decided not to read Fourth Wing because of reviews from people about the writing being cringe and there not being enough world building, but seeing how strong your reactions were... I have to read it now. (And it's okay that I know what happens because I have the memory of a dainty mayfly, so I will have totally forgotten all the spoilers by the time this book comes available from the library.) No you’re a really one for staying all the way until that part of the video!! And the writing is definitely not fantasy level writing, apparently the author did it on purpose so that people that had really only read contemporaries could dip their toes into fantasy and have fun with it instead of getting intimidated by complex world building and language! I think that’s where a lot of people’s disconnect with the writing is coming from!

Part of what made me read this book is violets condition- Ehlers Danlos Syndrome- which I also suffer from, and it's written so well bc the author also suffers from EDS. Loving this vlog... Ok, this was the best reading vlog I've ever watched. 🤣🥰 I was screaming with you. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 😂 Also, let's talk about something no one ever mentioned in their reviews or vlogs. Andarnen grew to 3xs her size while violet was healing. BOOM! Xayden was like. "No one will ever believe that is the same dragon and the secret will be out about feather tails." 🫨 Also, Liam didn't need to die. I want his dragon to have redemption in dragon heaven for saving Tairn and she gets to live again which brings Liam back to life. That's what I want. And when Xayden screamed for Liam, I heard that and felt it in my chest. That was so hard to read. 😢 I'm mad at my best friend for begging me to read this book before the whole series was completed and out. It's supposed to be 5 books....don't quote me on that. 😅

I got my 1st edition copy of fourth wing before all the hype happened. I read the summary of the book and was so excited, but that quickly faded as I found it was written so juvenilely. I feel bad owning this 1st edition copy that everyone seems to want when I rated the book 2 out of 5 stars… happy for those who like it but it was not the writing I like.

As a 25 year old guy who hasn't read a book for enjoyment since I was like 13. The last book I read was Eragon. I work at Walmart in OGP (Online Grocery Pick-up) and saw this book being ordered over and over again. I saw the cover and noticed the dragons and it made me feel nostalgic for Eragon so I bought a copy of Fourth Wing after work. I finished the book within the week. Fourth Wing has totally reignited the fire in my heart for reading and I'm so happy. Just purchased Iron Flame and am prepared to binge. Okay I did like your review. Just a few comments, late to the party as I just finished this book last week. I also kept seeing people recommending this book on Tik Tok and other Social Media. But I never paid attention to it because of all the hype, when I would see it being advertised I would immediately scroll through it, I knew nothing going in. Literally didn’t even know it was a book about dragons until I physically held the book in my hand and saw the cover. FYI I hate spoilers so glad I saw this after reading. Also 30-40 mins drive to Barnes and Noble is not far at all, I had to drive like almost 2 hours to find books before as they were sold out locally everywhere. Forth Wing as I was late to read it I just ordered it off Target as it was restocked, glad I waited and it’s awesome your BF found it for you. Anyways glad you enjoyed it, I really enjoyed it!! Waiting to read Iron Flame as I’m finishing other books hopefully I don’t run into any spoilers. Also I’m no longer on Tik tok as it’s ruined other books for me. i actually thought that the writing and so called "info dump" was great it was not to hard to understand and made me so much more curious. daine i hate i don't think i will like him again so yeah. Xaden is amazing and i love that he knows violet can do and handle herself so much better than the people think and he wants her to learn on her own but knows when to step in. i loved this book and i thought i wouldn't because of the hate but here i was reading it in like 7 hours and can't wait to read iron flame.

So, if you check out the first page of the book it says that all the text which is in the library of the scribes has been translated by Violet's 'friend' jae-something( i don't remember her name)and now we know that their country has been lying to them about the war and what actually happened with the rebellion through text! And don't you find that she couldn't find the book of fables in the library when Violet asked her? i think she is being bribed by the government to basically lie through the text so they could trick their citizens into thinking that they are the heroes here.

Starting with the very obvious: if the country is in war for centuries and needs soldiers so bad then killing the potential soldiers even before they get in the school is ridiculous and let it kill without any goal too. Then it’s not easy writing to write irrational dialogues for example when the little Violet first meets the guy and what they tell to each other? The family story like idiots. Nobody does that. And her mother: “Don’t. Do. This. In. A. Book. Because. It’s. Dumb.” Makes her 12 not 20 and not once, not just her mother does it. Ridiculous. Oh yes , as the author doesn’t know how to introduce the world, what’s happening? Violent will tell us to concentrate…. Next time she could send an encyclopedia with the book. Then being so predictable because uses the tropes that everyone used before: she is the main character? She will have the badass dragon. The guy is a family enemy/“avoid him” -> he will be the guy. And his dragon will bond with hers. Violence - Violet even if she didn’t show anything why, because he had to show dominance, destroying agency, and he has to be a dick of course that’s the best. Btw: Violet doesn’t have to be anything interesting. She basically a flat character, typical. Why should she a strong female character? That needs real attention and writing how she would think. Here you go. For easy reading even Brandon Sanderson’s books are great too. The content is what different there but it doesn’t matter. That’s easy writing yet quality content. Here an editor would send it back for rewriting if the quality would be a question easy writing or not. “For acotar fans”? No wonder if she copied our bad guy from there just the eye color is different and again: same shame how it behaves. Copy-paste.
