What I like about Forged Alliance, from what I've seen of gameplay videos, is that it doesn't matter whether or not you lose a teammate or two in a game, you can still pull off a win. The same can't be said of other RTS games; especially Starcraft, where you're going to lose 9 times out of 10 if you lose a teammate. There needs to be a concerted effort to recruit more players for this game, because it stands head and shoulders above all the other RTS games now and in the past. Or maybe make a Supreme Commander 3.

I've been trying to over the last several months that I've been watching your channel, Gyle's and Heaven's, but because of the steep learning curve, the age of the game and other factors, it's been difficult finding potential recruits. I think the best place to recruit new players would be on Starcraft. I'll try to convince my favorite SCII caster/player (LowkoTV) to play a game, but I doubt he'll showcase it on his channel because he's probably under contractual obligation only to feature Blizzard games on his channels. That's speculation on my part, though.

Artificial Intelligence i am considering to buy this game as it indeed seems fun. I am just worried about the hardware requirements this game SC has, my laptop reaches the minimum and not further, is this enough to play on a satisfying framerate? graphics don't matter to me. and the second question: how newbfriendly is the community? I played a part of the campaign and some skirmishes on Total Annihilation, so I hopefully know the basic mechanics. still got an awful lot of learning to do. is the community friendly enough to help me on that part?

I recommend you buy a desktop if you're going to play online with other people (like more than 2 vs. 2), because a laptop's CPU, unless it's a $1,500+ one, isn't going to cut it, especially later in the game when there's hundreds/thousands of units. For Forged Alliance your PC's CPU is much more important than its GPU, but there are limitations built within the game that it doesn't much matter beyond a certain point. IIRC, there's a scale between 0-500 (lower being better) on the FAF client that shows the performance of your CPU. Search Heaven FAF on KZbin; he's basically the go-to person for anything related to Forged Alliance/FAF.

Brink, why are _you_ of all people asking questions like "What's the deal with this mission"? You've completed the _entire_ Supreme Commander story just a year ago, for Dostya's sake. Shouldn't you have remembered the campaign at least vaguely? It's not like it's _that_ boring and forgettable.

Nitram 218 its co-op missions, integrated in the forged alliance forever client (which is incidently a balance mod, graphics and performance enhancing mod)

It's FAF, you can play through both the SC and FA campaigns in co-op mode using it (to varying degrees of stability). Although the maps weren't designed to support multiple players so often hilarity happens and someone ends up running on mass fabs :)

I play coop a lot and the "invincible" mexes at the start can be killed. just take your ACU and ground fire just past the mex in question and the projectile will hit the mex and damage it. it take a minute or two as they are t3 mexes but it can be done

2020 and im running faf on an old refurbished Healthcare laptop, and it runs smooth. Turned off AA and low shadows and I don't have a steep drop in frames till you get to very large scale battles but this rare in a 1v1 or 2v2. Compared to a 4v4 and up

This is difficult to watch. Too much zoom in/out and deselecting com for no reason only to reselect it again. It's obviously the twitch muscle memory from being a high rank player but gyle's POV makes for much better viewing.

Imagine killing an enemy commander with an AA unit while the commander is on the ground(using the AA part and not the ground part if it has it(as in place a unit behind the commander and the commander dies to the AA)

So... will there be no more of this series? Does it end at #4 rather than finish the last 2 campaign missions? Is this perhaps due to Tokyto's mistake/death on mission #4? If so, I'm rather bummed as I was enjoying the group interaction in this series... Or perhaps I missed where the last 2 campaigns are posted?
