Four years after she married Grant Hill she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which is a chronic disease affecting the brain and spinal cord. So that's why she retired and does small shows every once in a while.

Broadcast Houston That show was EPIC!!! I was right in the front and was singing along all night! By the way...Tamia has been in that gym but everybody can probably tell that! She did tributes to the greats, and even incorporated the Tyga song “Taste” into the routine, which was DOPE, but she did at least a solid 90 minutes of amazingness! I was so entranced by her, I forgot that my feet were hurting!! LOL! I’ll go to every show of hers that I can get to!! 💖💖💖
