Why do you say you're not a royalist? You clearly are. You recognise and value the role of the monarchy. The UK is just one of a a group of lucky European nations which have a monarch - and they are, without exception, the most democratic, the most liberal, the most economically, socially and politically progressive and forward thinking nations on the planet. I'm proud to be pro monarchy and stand shoulder to shoulder with millions of Danes, Spaniards, Belgians, Swedes, Dutch etc etc. Rather a constitutional King or Queen than have to put up with Putin or Trump or any other 'elected' head of state.

That wasn't the only death that broke me. There was that of my grandma just 3 weeks after the Queen. On top of being paralyzed and demented by a stroke in her 70s (which made my life go downhill since then already), in 2021, she got COVID from her caretaker, but she managed to pull through thanks to the vaccine. The following year, however, she suffered respiratory and heart failure at the same time, which turned into a fatal condition by Saturday that ended up killing her on the same day. My mother couldn't even go around (only in the early morning and late afternoon) because she had just come back from her cancer operation and, to make things worse than bad, she was forced by her heartless brother (my uncle, who recently cheated on his wife!!!) to make the funeral preparations. Just a month later, our dog Daphne had an aggressive stomach ache that almost killed her, but it was all caused by the food we were giving him - that was not the first time it occurred in her life. She's fine now and eating the right kibbles. But that moment was terrible. Age only makes things worse (this year, she turned 13 - born in 2010): she has been diagnosed with cataracts, a heart murmur, and I'm even more upset than my mother, on top of the Coronavirus and the whole Ukraine Vs. Russia & Hamas/Palestine war scare. I think I'm losing my family... S-s-sorry, I'll need to work this out somehow! P.S. I also have a female cat. She's doing fine like Daphne, except that she's FIV positive...

I was in Wales when I heard that Her Majesty died. It didn't help the fact that I was about to lose my grandmother to lung cancer a month and a half later after the Queen’s death. Wales was the last place that I saw her and I dreaded leaving knowing I'll never see her again. But I believe that when the Queen and my grandmother first heard the news of their cancers, they both had said, "Well, I've had a good life." And we all agreed with them. Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth II and Jane Sparke Selby.

Yes it was. It meant even more because it was the only time in Queen Elizabeth's entire regin(possibly in history)a forgien country anthem was play on their royal command, royal and military band, on Sovereign property. As an American it was so thoughtful, classy, dignified, subtle, humbling, loving, meaningful and royal forgien tribute I saw and I didn't sleep for over 8 days after I started watching before the first tower fell.

Queen mother was 101, maybe it was the age, but more is that she just couldn't go on without the rock of her life, her soulmate and the other half of her heart. We are all humans and some just can't live with so much grief and pain in the heart. Even if they are royals. Just like the Queen mother couldn't go on without her daughter Margaret. Women are always first mother, then other.

She was a brilliant Queen. She worked hard for our country and I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the things she has done for our country. I sympathise for whats she's been through in the last few years Prince Phillips death, The Harry and Megan drama which didn't help and her son Prince Andrew. She was the beating heart of our country. A special person with a great sense of humour. Elizabeth just went so quick, it wasn't two minutes since we were celebrating her jubilee. That moment with Paddington Bear was a major highlight and one of the best things to watch. It won't be the same without her.

@@furq3995 I stand by this for a couple of reasons. First, I didn't know about the scandal around him. No one did. And like the lunatic entertainment media, the guy's work is separate from how he conducts himself on a personal level. Second, there's a LOT of noise in regards of his mental health. If Huw has done this (guilty until proven otherwise), he seems to have some very deep mental issues that puts his ability to make at least reasonable decisions regarding behavior questionable. I don't condone his behavior in any way, should he be guilty, but he's allowed the benefit of innocence until proven otherwise. We do too much of that in the US.

@@Mattlawton-ft6ew See my response to furq3995 above. With this other caveat. One of the people named in the coverage of this scandal has disowned her mother's accusations. I live in the US & we jump to conclusions when it comes to accusations of this nature. I thought the Brits were more reasonable than we are. Finally, the work of a public figure needs to be separate from the person's behaviors or crimes. Different sphere, but let's take a look at a more serious situation. Paul Gadd/Gary Glitter was proven to be a far more despicable creature in a court of law. And yet, as revolting as I find him, I still quite enjoy "Rock & Roll Parts 1 & 2". Were it possible for another artist to do a decent cover of it, I'd gladly promote the cover.
