13:16, If Andrew Buchan did not get a golden globe for that scene I need to have words with the judges. The way he yells at Joe sends chills down my spine every time! So incredibly powerful. Joe making excuses in that moment I wanted to jump through the screen and smack him. Dude, you killed an 11 year old and you have the audacity to blame the boys FATHER for the crime YOU committed. He's lucky Mark was talking to him behind the prison cell. Honestly, to me the flashback when Danny said "I will tell Dad" was the most telling of his relationship with Mark. Sure Danny said he couldn't talk to Mark the way he talked to Joe, but if Danny was ready to go to Mark about what was going on with Joe, it shows that Danny knew Mark would do anything to protect him. And Joe becoming scared at that line, he knew Mark would be pissed at Joe. I was honestly thinking, "Well if what your doing with Danny was so innocent, then why are you keeping it secret and so afraid of people knowing? To the point you told him not to show his parents a cell phone you got him?"

Omg I love how excited people get for this show! It was sooooo good 😱 it’s been a while since I looked back at these reactions hahahaha, it’s so funny how much things have changed 😂 I remember trying to be soooo quiet hahahah Okay my answer to your comment! This scene was absolutely CHILLING. I remember feeling shivers down my spine. The acting in this show is and will forever be phenomenal. I remember feeling scared for Joes life in S2. Tbh Joe was just messed up... he’d make excuses for his actions, or blame others for his faults. I did however feel ever so slightly bad for him... but I don’t think these feelings kicked in until later seasons. One more thing about this episode... Ellie finding out is the most heartbreaking thing... Olivia Coleman’s acting was absolutely pin point. Gosh I love this show hahahaha 😍

This show really got to me because of how realistic it is in the sense that it's always someone with access with kids that can do these things. Not the stranger down the alley way and I had not seen it in tv before.

My heart absolutely broke when Mark got to the Car Park. It was so sad the total dramatic irony in that scene, He was just blissfully unaware that in that moment his life was just destroyed.

It’s always soooo heartbreaking seeing someone before they find out something horrible. One minute, they’re at peace, calm, and in a good state of mind. But as viewers, we know that can be taken away just like that 🥺

Re: what it has to do with Nigel - I think it was a case of mistaken identity. She saw him from a distance and thought it was Nigel. Case would be stronger if he didn't have the cap on because they both have bald heads (maybe he even took the cap off? it's been a while since I've seen it)

Such a beautiful season of television. Fantastic performances all around. The music alone brings me to tears. Great reaction. I figured out it was Joe about the time Hardy did. There were little clues, but they were really subtle.

Re: what it has to do with Nigel: Nige and Joe are similar builds, hairstyle (or lack of hair) and such. It's a case of mistaken identity mixed with Susan White's upset and bias with Nigel.

I had to find the concluding episode again because viewing it sent tears cascading down my face. This had to be the finest drama series I’ve ever seen. Splendid actors, cinematography, writing, the whole works!

I would feel sympathy for Joe, but the fact that Danny revealing his relationship with Joe would “spoil it” for him makes me realize that regardless of the circumstances, Joe saw this as a release in some way, and wanted to keep his idyllic relationship untainted by judgment. He’s a complex character; undoubtedly a monster, but still someone who feels shame for what he did.

Shows that I would recommend that are of the same caliber of writing are Line of Duty, which I am in the middle of, True Detective (Season 1), Ozark, and Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. BCS is a prequel to BB, but I have always wanted to see someone react to it first and watch them in the proper time sequence, just to see what that would be like. The problem is the comments would completely spoil things, as people would assume the person saw BB first.

This reaction got suggested to me by the algorithm (good job, little machine) and I’m about to binge the rest of your Broadchurch reactions - - have you considered reacting to Deadloch? It’s an Aussie series on Amazon Prime written by the women responsible for The Katering Show (which can be found on KZbin). It was pitched as ‘funny Broadchurch’ but I believe it stands up well on its own.

been loving these broadchurch reactions! season 2 is a tiny bit worse imo, but season 3 is great. looking forward to more of these! if you're looking for a different show to react to, i'd suggest LOST (if you haven't seen it yet). it's a perfect show to react to, full of twists and mysteries, with an amazing cast and incredible characters.

@@DanReadd season 2 just has these two characters in particular that annoy the crap out of me and it influenced my enjoyment of the whole season. but if you end up not being annoyed with them, then you might enjoy the entire season just as much as you did this one, because the rest of it is great! that is just how it went for me, might not be the same for you 😊

Have to disagree with you there, dude. Just my opinion but Season 3 feels kinda tacked on, like characters doing and going into stuff that already felt resolved, and the new investigation just doesn’t really match up with the Danny Latimer murder storyline, feels, if you’ll get the phrase, Monster of the Week-ish, except swap the word Monster for Criminal. And also on a side-note, the Season 3 investigation and resolution utterly sickened me. Like I could understand the circumstances of Joe accidentally killing Danny, but what that person did in Season 3 was just evil and disgusting. Season 2 meanwhile has a perfect book-end though. Showing the fall-out and the legal aftermath of the situation with the court proceedings, diving back into the Sanbrooke case to make Alec feel at ease with his past, the way the townsfolk come together to collectively banish Joe, Alec goes to leave in the taxi and pauses contemplating whether or not he’ll stay or go. I feel thematically it works better to end it there with everything nicely tied up, that follow it up with something that adds little to the overall package of the show.

@@JackMellor498 I agree with you. I felt like Season 2 was the perfect ending to the show. It showed the Latimer family finally having closure on Danny. And the friendship between the Latimer's and the Miller's completely mended. And Joe was banished. It was a perfect ending. It would have been better if season 2 ended. The fact that it was an accident with Joe killing Danny. And it helped me understand the depth of Mark's guilt and why he couldn't open up to Beth. I looked at Season 3 a little bit, but I think two seasons was enough.

The amount of insane reactions to the same murder in this show is just funny after a while. I get that its a drama but everyone is always freaking out lol
