the handles need to be bent forward by about 30 degrees too....at least those that work better seem to have that feature.

Add 6 inches of angle iron toward the front of your pivot assembly and it will stay flat..

using it wrong, step on back frame so sticking front goes into soil vertically

Ra I yes that’s the idea of the broadfork: to penetrate deeply without too much “tilthing” of the soil, but instead loosen the deep structure of the soil allowing air and water to penetrate. So what you have may be what you want to chive, but really isn’t a broad fork per se.

Broadforks are not intended for new ground - there should be no obstructions where they are used.
