Demonstration of Alde heating system

Great tutorial video...just bought my first caravan with the Alde heating system on board. I've read the instruction book but having watched this I feel a lot more confident on how it all works, especially the display screen icons and what they all mean. Cheers.

Great video, thank you. Using my new caravan for the first time this weekend when the temperature is forecast to be close to freezing overnight so will definitely be having the heating on!

In Norway the dealer says that you can only use Alde coolant liquid. Ore else the garanty isn't valid. Another tip can be installed the battery pack that Alde have, so the clock and setting will be saved.

I'm watching this in the autumn of 2023 so things may have changed somewhat. Nevertheless, this is an excellent tutorial with good user advice based upon experience. Whilst I don't have any experience with the ALDE system, it strikes me as being a far better system than what is commonly put into caravans and motorhomes. Those with experience may correct me on that. Also, whilst the ALDE interface panel is not difficult, I tend to feel that they have over-complicated the display unnecessarily so that it is rather counter-intuitive. Naturally, as I said, it isn't difficult and therefore one would quickly get used to it. Nevertheless, if a guest were to attempt to change the temperature, I think they would be lost without an explanation or the owners getting up and doing it for them. The temperature like scale for switching between water and heater was a classic example of making something simple unnecessarily complicated and without an explanation, would personally assume it to mean the temperature of the shower. Just food for thought for ALDE in the unlikely event that they would read this comment.

Very useful video. Worth also mentioning the current limiter on some vans will stop the water heater from working under some circumstances. On a new Swift Elegance, 2021 model there is a selectable current limiter on the control panel so you can avoid tripping the supply out on low power supply sites. I recently set ours to a maximum of 10 amps and wondered why we got no hot water. It was because the consumption on the Alde control panel was set to 3Kw and the current limiter would not permit the water heater to connect as it would exceed a 10 amp current draw.

Your description of the the hot water function is incorrect and will confuse some people. The Shower symbol controls the hot water only. Low setting it's off, mid setting its on and high setting is boost. If the heating pump is set to 'Cont' then the Heating will switch off for 30mins in boost mode but it's not designed to switch the heating on and off. The 30 min limit is not applicable if the ALDE Flow system is installed.

On the home page on my system, the temp is showing 70 degrees any idea why ? Is it anything to do with hot water boost

hi my having trouble with my heating system. inside the caravan it say it 32.5 but it not 32 .5 .where does the caravan get its temperature reading from ? please can you help 🙏
