ngl.. me and my friends play the game pretty often, we use it as a wow break when the seasons are in a lul, and we have a great time. Everyone I have personally spoken to has had good things to say about the graphical updates. Then I come online and app the world is on fire? People are losing it? From the pov of a casual player it's kinda surreal to watch.

Agreed, at worst the eye reflection in my Cathar's eyes is a little strong. That's it. I think I've seen the weird neck / shoulder mismatch on some NPCs though.

Whats crazy to me if you compare SWTOR expansions to WoW and FFX makes SWTOR Devs look like they been on vacation since 2018. In 2018 Battle For Azeroth was release, then 2020 Shadowlands was release, in 2022 Dragonflight was release, in 2024 The War Within was release. FFX In 2017 Stormblood was release, in 2019 Shadowbringers was release, in 2021 Endwalker was release, in 2024 Dawntrail was release, here we are with SWTOR having the same story boring soul less story about Malgus. Also each expansion from WoW and FFX added new races new content, new story line, new classes, new EVERYTHING, in SWTOR same classes same abilities same old story about Malgus, same old same old soul less content.

OK, I"m personally giving them a pass on the story content. There have been complaints about story content not being fully voice acted and instead of releasing story content without it being voice acted they are holding it off till the strike is settled. In this respect, I believe that the devs trust us enough to understand the current events in the industry. However, I agree some of the art modernization. I think that that part of the update should have been left off of the update until it was done. Granted, it hasn't affected me that much, but I can see how to some it would be an issue. I think that they got themselves rushed with the update and tried to add as much to it as they could because they new the story was going to be delayed.

I feel they know they're damned if they do and damned if they don't comment on the modernization thread. I will stick with my thought from the previous video that this single comment gets them a month of breathing room. A toggle sounds like the easiest path and I would certainly like a classic look mode. However I remember that this game is built on a beta version of the engine. They have struggled with nonhuman character updates for years. Twi'leks with limited colors and lack of newer options. Male Togrutas with oddly stubby lekku. No headgear for nonhuman characters even though the couple of head pieces designed for Twi'leks were popular. Will they be able to work within the limitations of the engine? Will they add or remove the missing muscles, strange lines on hips, wrinkles, sunken eyes, different nose and lips? Along with the oddly looks like someone took an eraser to some cleavage lines. It really did look like someone took an eraser or smudge tool and went problem solved. I mean if you want to PG the game up just man up and remove the old slave/dancer sets. I'm sure there would be outrage probably way less than this though.

Hey Boomy, I like your videos a lot. I worked at EA when they started the development of SWTOR. I worked in the IT Department so I got to see/hear and talk with a lot people. I can tell you when EA bought Bioware, it was all about money, the decisions were all based on money how much was it going to cost to develop a new game engine. EA was calling the shots not Bioware. One of, if not the main issue is EA/Bioware used that damn HERO Engine. The Engine is garbage, very difficult to upgrade as we can see in the recent updates. Also, since there is a conflict going in Ukraine remember this: BioWare continuously updated the engine since launch on their own (which at BioWare means, outsourcing it to the Russians at Sperasoft).

yep however, one of the biggest issues is the player base doesn't hold themselves accountable, and you have content creators (not Boomy) who will delete comments when you critique them, however will go on 10 min tirades if a player claims a comment was deleted by a developer with zero evidence. I agree with your statement I wish content creators were like Boomy, and would actually engage with those who disagree with their positions or just simply ask to back up what they say. There is a long history of players flagging each others comments and that's the reason the comments are removed.

I've watched the devs they showcase lately on the media. They don't look like they play SWTOR. I believe most of them are "woke" political cultists that snaked their way into the dev team and then took control trying to reap the credit of the previous SWTOR developers by saying "oh lookie, I was part of the SWTOR developmental process which was a very successful game and part of a HUGE IP". Which can help them in the future when the SWTOR dev team inevitably dissolves after it's completely ruined so they can find another big company to latch on to like the leeches they are. They're objective is to destroy the game from inside out. Destroy everything we once loved about the game. "Evil cannot create new, they can only corrupt and destroy what's already been made". I hope EA who's lost billions of dollars of shareholder profits and profits from their latest releases realizes, this "woke" bullshit doesn't work. It doesn't sell. It appeases the 1% of very loud fucking redditor, Twitter, and Bluesky cultists who DO NOT represent the majority of people who will ACTUALLY BUY their games. Look at what happened to Dragon Age Veilguard? Whoever wants to rebuttal against me can, but you know deep inside, i'm not wrong. GTFO out of your matrix and look at the reality. JUST because YOU WANT activist social projects to be spread through the BIGGEST entertainment medium in the world which is video games, doesn't mean the AUDIENCE wants that to see that shit. U havent heard anything new about the subscription problem ppl having from steam and main homepage? i havent played swtor for 4 years now, i recently got the feeling i wanted to return for a month atleast. Long story short, my main account got hacked and lost forever it seems when they removed the old author. I dont mind starting over all again but the restrictions for f2p is killing me and i cant get the expansions without 1 sub for a month....i live in Europe so i dont know the problem for ppl in america with the subscriptions. but reading on the forum. are you actually providing constructive context to where you're posting?? and do you have any evidence that you can provide that shows you're not actually violating ToS. Meaning, if I'm in a section on the forums, and I start talking about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I'm actually in violation of the ToS. Like to be fair the ToS of the forums is very clear. You post relevant questions/issues/concerns in the relevant spot, if you don't the post will be taken down. See this is the issue with the player base none of you want to grasp. If your posting in a section on the forums that talks about the Alderaan World Boss, and you come in and respond "Hey where's R4 NIM" you're actually in violation of ToS. Whether you as a player choose to accept this or not, is an issue for you to figure out. But I do find it funny all these players that have their comments taken down, they never have the ability to demonstrate what they are talking about.

You just made another claim " ik they made themselves clear that they are not doing it" can you provide a link to an article, or on the forums where one of the devs stated specifically we are not doing it, or a video interview they did when they announced they were scrapping the idea. Honestly, I'd even take someone demonstrating that the devs said at the time R4 was initially released that they planned to have R4 NIM by the end of the year (If I remember correctly I think R4 was released in April). The player base needs to STOP with the false claims, and actually start BACKING up what they state.

SWTOR has a habit of releasing content/patch smack bang days before the Dev team goes on a break for Christmas/Life Day, run out a quick patch in the first 24 hours then rush out the door for leave for 2 or 3 weeks. If the content is bad/not well received they are not around for the fall out and by the time they are back in the office it has quite often blown over. The problem with this approach is that it is this period more so than ANY other on the Calendar where by Player Numbers will peak because most people have time off from work! So if the content/patch is broken OR so DISLIKED these players ARE the mostly to QUIT FOR GOOD AND NEVER RETURN! Dev teams ARE entitled and SHOULD also have a break as well as everyone else SO it makes it hard to suggest when the right time Content/Patch updates should Actually happen. The team AND Management Need to stop shooting themselves in both the foot and head at the SAME TIME by repeating this every year! If I were to suggest a time of year, the week of May THE FOURTH! I have so many gripes with SWTOR that I could likely a book longer than the EU and Skywalker Saga combined Hint I am still waiting for a proper Celebration of 10 Years of SWTOR (maybe the 20th now but I am no longer holding my breath anymore!) but right now I want to keep my few embers for the love I have for SWTOR Alive, So this is my positive comment!

I don't think the SWTOR Mando story line is going to go away anytime soon. Since the Cartel Market is the driving force of this game's life, I bet they have plans of the Mando story crap going on until around late 2026, because of the Mando movie. They can make new Mando movie CM items to sell. Since Disney Star Wars is also basically dead now (thanks to woke 💩), the writers might have to get creative. Although, I invision yet another round of a too perfect female cast with little to no depth and a dumb male character that has flirt dialouge option in every other chat sequence. Ya know, "the norm." Maybe throw in something stupid nobody wants like baking cakes missions/events that reward re-colored items that have already been in the game for years. It's all sad, because I really enjoyed Skeleton Crew. I'd like to know your thoughts on it Boomy. 😊

I enjoyed Skelton Crew as well! I thought it was a great nod to The Goonies and Indiana Jones, wrapped in a Star Wars wrapping. It's the first show in 2 years from Star Wars that I want a second season of.

However I'll grant they did have that general thought process just for the sake of discussion and then I'll follow by saying "later" could be 5 years from now. The implication from your comment is that they stated that at a specific time they were going to do a crafting update. To which I'm still waiting on this proof. Here's an example to demonstrate why players need to have concrete evidence to back up their statements. Ex: My roommate asks me at 10 am "Hey are you going to the store??" My response "Yeah I'm going later" Well, my roommate can't be mad if I don't go until 11 pm. If they needed a ride earlier in the day.

I am a relatively new player and pass only the legacy of the Sith. I’m going through the republic so far. All I can say, the plot itself is pretty good, it is interesting to observe history, but there are no interesting characters in it. God I just don’t like Arn and Tau, they are so boring, something at the level of companion soldiers from the original storyline. Mandalorians are one of the boring characters in the entire galaxy. And the most furious thing that is obligated to go through the plot with these characters. If there is a choice to use another companion, then he simply stands and is silent for the entire dialogue, or does not appear in it at all. In the original plot, the companion could say at least a couple of phrases after the conversation and I was enough, it’s a pity that this was no longer there. Of the interesting characters, I noticed only one twilek-padawan and her brother. Of all the two expansions after Kotet.... How is it possible? But the plot of expansions seemed good to me and pleases interactions with old characters. For example, I have an affair with Arcann and on the Voss I almost let a tear from a cute scene, which I appreciated as the sweetest scene in the whole game

I would like to add more interesting characters to the game. Kotfe and Kotet were crowded with interesting characters, the story of each of them was felt exciting. But in the following expansions of interesting characters there are simply no. Only old ones are pleasing.

It also seems like after those expacs, and once we hit 6.0 beyond...the newer characters took a massive personality dive. Forgettable. It doesn't help with such long spaces between stories. You forget what is going on. I'm you're enjoying the game!

I don't understand the complains about the modernization. All my characters look better as in the graphic details. Also the planets look better. Things like trees and shadows are also clearer. I have many gripes with SWTOR but I feel like the appearance has been an improvement not a downgrade.

Mine too. All my characters have become more detailed. Previously, it was impossible to look at the characters icon without laughter, it seemed that they looked smoked, but now at least a face was visible

Define "strong," because it's failed in the metrics of player retention, content volume and quality, and encouraging time investment once endgame is reached. Its daily peak player count is dwarfed by old single player games, which isn't something an MMO should be proud of. The only thing strong with this game today is its monetization, which is why EA didn't pull the plug after KotFE and KotET.

It's strong mostly from a fiduciary lens because it makes 100m+ a year from the CM, not because it's flowing with steady new content or a large playerbase.

Bruh I wanna say they should give Swtor back to BioWare but BioWare is owned by Disney now along with lucasfilms if I remember right (aka the original creators of Star Wars legends and main story wars stories such as Swtor) and truth be told no true Star Wars fan wants Disney to get their hands on Swtor. I rather see the Swtor burn to ash then to see it in the hands of Disney. Personally though I Swtor gotta do something fast. Fans are supporting the voice actors who are still on strike and voice actors are more than likely supporting fans due how much fans are supporting them. I mean what else needs to be done and said to make our points clear to the devs?. Seriously what’s next? The animators and writers go on strike?. I mean hell they be getting paid some big bucks if they haven’t gone on strike yet with their fellow co-workers. MORE IMPORTANTLY it’s both funny and sad how everytime something good comes around for the Swtor gamers devs either ruin it in some way shape or form or something magically happens that screws everything up. As much as I wanna say it’s not on purpose… let’s be honest. Any dev team and gaming company would’ve fixed their mistakes by now permanently. Swtor devs have had literal years to fix their mistakes and yet they are still failing to do so.
