Like in ballet where the corps has not that diffucult movements than soloists but there are many of them and timing has to be perfect . A little mistake can destroy the line.

yes, the choreography is simple, but the hard part is hitting the right angle, being all together, having the flexibility, dancing on heels, keeping your core strong and keeping a smile on your face while making it all look effortless

So, I'm not a dancer, but I can really appreciate the work that goes into each of the shows and entire lifestyle. It's clear to me that it takes a Hell of a lot of discipline to be a Rockette. I don't know a thing about choreography and what is 'easy' or 'difficult', but I can see and very much respect the work these women are clearly putting in.

Maya Mendoza Great Question! Rehearsal isn’t the place where people learn new material! Rehearsal is the place people go to take all they have learned and practiced and putting it together at the venue and/or with the ensemble!

Paul Anthony yes ive done theatre before but what i meant is someone is usually like a beat off or mess up a move or something . the perfection in this video is insane from their hair , to the dance , to the formations , to the height of kicks , to everything . it’s basically perfection in a rehearsal which is rare

Maya Mendoza you are totally correct I think this particular rehearsal is geared more towards Macy’s needs as far as camera angles and the like are concerned. So they needed to be perfect in order to prepare for the show.

I was watching a video on it! They have to perform up to so many times a day, As for the process of becoming one they have to try out each year even if they are already in, they don't get paid as much as you think they would and long long hours! If I find the video I will link it

Hard to find people who are interested who have both the talent, the training, the experience, AND who fit the physical requirements of height, long legs, etc. If the majority of the best dancers in the world who meet the physical requirements happen to be white, than so be it. In this day and age, no American performance group is intentionally excluding amazingly talented people just because they aren't white.

@Chelsea Raycove Diversity is important, and this is something people from all over the nation watch. It's important especially for children to see diversity in groups like this. It didn't look like there was much diversity in this group. I'm dont really understand what Jewishness or my being in the Rockettes has anything to do with this, but I'm neither Jewish, nor that tall, or interested.

No one has said anything offensive, nor have they attacked any performer of the Rockettes in any way. Relax. It was an observation, we're still allowed to make those. Lacona Snyder there are many videos on YT that explain the process of recruiting Rockettes if you want to educate yourself. you have to be a certain height, a certain weight. nowhere did it say you had to be a certain race. you practice hard, you audition hard and if you don’t get in that year, there’s always next.

@@ConaChan I'm sorry, but you're a fool. A dance troupe doesn't need diversity, it needs the best possible dancers. Now assuming that all colours have an equal percentage of talented dancers, then as the USA is roughly 90% white you would expect 90% of the dancers to be white. To push for diversity is simply lowering the standard. It's called "reality" you might want to get acquainted with the concept. As to your comment being an "observation", you are assuming that "diversity" is a good thing in all cases, something patently untrue. If you try to push untrue concepts expect to be confronted over them.
