So the housing is fastened on the joist on one side. Will this allow too much vibration?

I've been fighting with the springs and cannot get tgem to engage. Even in this video, at 10:16, the springs are arced out and at 10:3 they are arced in. Something doesn't make sense. And for a person with large hands, getting the second one in without the first removing itself has proven impossible for me

I got it! The key for me was: first, mark the edges of the clips on the ceiling so I can see where they line up without having to see the clips themselves. Next, on the far side of the fan from me (the side I can see what I'm doing on) flip the springs over and install them so they look like at 10:15. That holds the far side up pretty well. Next, squeeze the spring on the close side and somehow get it hooked onto the hooks like shown at 10:13. It sucks but can be done. Then you can push the whole thing up and it stays like it should. Huzzah!

Unfortunately I am one of those with big hands and the struggle to put these springs in place is unreasonable to say the least.

I spent 15 minutes on this, for a fan 3 times as expensive as the budget one from the same brand I am replacing, the older one was a lot easier to do and felt more secure. Definitely not an improvement for this. I ended up having to bend the spring otherwise it would come out when I pushed it up.

What do I do if I have no ground wire

Is it a metal sheathed cable? If it is a metal cable, the cable jacket is the ground (wire). An approved cable connector must be installed on the cable and must be properly tighten to the fan wiring plate. If it is old NM (nonmetallic) cable without a ground wire, the fan should be protected by a GFCI.

OK, so I'm nit picking, but he had electrical wires draped over the metal box making contact. Nothing would ever happen, but it is against code to have wires touching any metal.. good video, thank yo for that...

???... I don't know what you see, but believe me everything is fine with NEC 2020 and has been checked by the inspector.
