Honestly if he would’ve went straight into MMA instead of the NFL in 2004, I believe he would’ve been one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

No doubt! Brock had a lot of back and neck injuries from football and WWE. If he had just focused on Jiu-Jitsu, and kick boxing from 2003-2006 and made his debut in 2006 he might have had the belt until about 2012 or so. I think Cain would still have beat him when he came long tho.

People who hate Brock look like they have never lifted a weight in their life. He was half his WWE size in the UFC, don't act like he was roided out. His opponents took more than him and were still half his size and a lot weaker than him and more importantly none of them became UFC champion after a couple years of MMA training and a few total MMA fights. He also couldn't complete a full week of training camp sometimes because he was so sick, if he was healthy he would have never lost.
@mrc6808
@mrc6808 2 жыл бұрын
He won the belt during a time where the division wasn't as strong as it is now. As soon as better competition came in he began to loose. Also lifting weights is only a small part of fighting, how did lifting weights help him against Cain Velasquez who had had a dad body compared to brock's steriod body.

Incase you guys didn't know, Min Soo Kim had eye surgery 5 days prior to this fight. He flew over to LA the day before this fight to "corner" Hong Man Choi who was Brock's original opponent but as Choi was forced to out of the fight due to brain illness, Kim stepped in last minute to fight Brock. Not only that, because the commission didn't allow fighters to have weight difference of over 20 kg, Kim, who weighted more than 20 kg less than Brock, had to hide extra weights in his pants during weigh in. The reason why he tapped so early was because Brock was repeatedly punching the eye that he had surgery on just 5 days ago so he had to save himself from going blind. Kim told this crazy behind the scene story in 2019, just watched it on youtube lol

Brock was especially terrifying around this time in his career, he was incredibly aggressive and so good at wrestling if he got ahold of you you were toast. Like always, we all get older and eventually get beat but at this time he couldnt be stopped. Even Fedor eventually got old, even though I bet he could still win the title if he really tried again haha.

Killa keemstar That's a good point. However, Brock did wrestle when New Japan was having its UFC fetish years and half the matches included wrestlers throwing live rounds 50% of the time. Regardless, the announcer did that to have the fans bounce up in their seats and say, "Let's see this fake wrestler get his ass kicked!"

Lesnars success came from being an oddity or a freak of nature. When someone is so ridiculously big and strong, it can give them advantages, even against highly skilled opponents. It’s funny because as strong a Lesnar was, he never actually KO’d anyone in mma. He didn’t possess knock out technique. He just brought his opponents to the ground and smothered them to death.

As soon as I saw Steve referring I automatically went "it's a wonder Kim didn't die during this fight" Also idly wondering if Dana would straight up shitcan someone in the UFC if they tapped to strikes like that. I think he would. I know it was a warm up/test the waters MMA fight for Lesnar but definitely a mismatch either way, but tapping cuz you're getting pounded in the face is something that I don't think I've ever seen happen in the UFC (because the ref usually has to stop it).

+tonysoldan steroids can be used to stimulate muscle, not just enlarge it, meaning that someone on steroids will greatly outperform someone who isn't. steroids are also available on prescription for issues such as heart problems, for example.
