One thing I respect about Brock Purdy is he doesn't have innate "elite level athleticism" but he never gave up on himself or his dream of being a quarterback. He started as a third-string quarterback for Iowa State. Later he would start as a third-string quarterback for the 49ers in the NFL. Brock Purdy doesn't fit into the elite athleticism "Superman Quarterback" mold but this doesn't mean he isn't a quality quarterback in his own right. I think the NFL would be a much better space if it stopped trying to squeeze every player into an ultra, mega, elite mold of specialness. Not every player has to fit into an elite special mold. NFL players deserve our kindness and respect. I'm glad Brock Purdy is my quarterback. He seems like a conscientious person that cares about others. I can tell he doesn't take his position for granted. I'm excited to see how he'll develop throughout the years. Let's go, 49ers!

@GoldTau-km9dm Kyle hasn't been scheming wide open wrs. Loom at the yards of separation average before and after McDaniel left the 9ers and do the same for the Dolphins. How about look at the average depth of target from Brock Purdy. No one has thrown more passes at or behind the line of scrimmage than Mahomes since he was drafted. I bet you didn't know any of that? Of course you didn't, you are just some weird hater who won't let facts get in the way of a good opinion. Maybe do some research and study football in general before you make yourself look like an idiot again.

@GoldTau-km9dm Jimmy literally wouldn't throw it Aiyuk's way because he didn't have the balls to throw deep! What kind of dellusional Bizzaro world do you live in champ? To say Jimmy has more balls than Purdy invalidates anything you have to say, I've never seen such a casual and inaccurate take in my life ffs.
@DreamsOfMemes_

@GoldTau-km9dm also look at the average yards of separation by 9ers wrs before and after McDaniel left and then check the Dolphins. Kyle ain't scheming wrs wide open. Mahomes has thrown at or behind the line of scrimmage more than any qb since the joined the league. Purdy has an extremely high depth of target. I bet you didn't know any of things, and will casually dismiss facts, because you don't want it to get into the way of a good rant!

Exactly. Brock Purdy has been balling ever since he started playing. A lot of NFL talking heads are in denial and/or a prejudice against any quarterback that doesn't have innate "elite level athleticism" unless they're someone like Tom Brady. Otherwise, they tend to disrespect them.

Purdy is definitively the 49ers QB1. Period. All the haters have to fight against the facts and the stats which prove he's an Elite QB. Everyone with a functional brain knows he's the guy from now on. He's only finished his 2nd year and he's been to the SB. And if Shanahan had been less conservative with play calling, hadn't abandoned the run, and had chosen to receive the ball 2nd instead of 1st in OT, we probably would have won it all. But with Purdy as QB1, and if we can keep a strong OLine and Defense around him, we'll be seeing the Playoffs every season from now on until the end of his career.

Aiyuk is a far better route runner than Deebo. He has better hands than Deebo, better blocker, and works better with the QB on broken plays. Aiyuk is good on YAC, but Deebo is the best WR in the league once the ball is in his hands. No other WR has a better combination of speed and tackle-breaking ability. That said Kittle is the best all-around TE in the league and he does it all - great routes, great speed for a TE, great YAC running, great blocker downfield and actually is the best all-around blocker on the O-line after Trent Williams. kittle is indispensable on running plays as well as pass plays.

Just in case no one here really looks at 'stats'....Brock Purdy went 10 & 1 last year when he attempted under 30 pass attempts in a game....and went 4 & 4 in games where he attempted 30+ passes a game!!! Funny thing is...if you go back to when we last made a SB w/JimmyG as our QB....he too went 10 & 1 in games w/under 30 pass attempts, but did slightly better 5&3, in games where he attempted 30+ a game! so, as long as our running game is firing on all cylinders and very little is asked of the QB...we're going to win! on the flip side, when the defense shuts down our run game, Shanahan gets tunnel vision w/his play calling and his QB's just arent the type of NFL QB's who can "win it from the pocket"...consistently!
