Najee should be used as a third down back. He's good in space, has good hands and can pick up the blitz effectively. He does not have the vision, burst and cutback ability to be successful on 1st and 2nd downs. As for Broderick, there no guarantees if he moves to LT, but as I have said many times, he's is certainly out of position at RT. Kendrick Green also existed, the mediocre guard drafted to play center. I have 0 faith this coaching staff has a fucking clue what they're doing in terms of OL coaching and talent building, or Tomlin in general because this is his MO and has been for years: stick players into the system I want, not build a system around the strengths of the players I have available.
@niyidelano4 күн бұрын
I am tired of people using where he plays on the line as an excuse. I can understand if he has techniques he needs to work on, such as foot placement, hand punching, etc., but the dude is not blocking, period. On the toss play to his side, he does not block his man. That is not a technique. It is effort and desire. Numerous plays were shown here where Broderick didn't engage. I understand why we drafted him. He started 1 year at Georgia, but his athleticism was off the charts, so it was a risk/reward pick. The other issue is the man coaching him. Tomlin's loyalty to mediocre coaches is baffling to me. Pat Myer has not done a good job with the talent we have given him, and then we see those players go elsewhere to find success.

Let's get something straight on the BJ point you're correct on the plays you pick out I could probably do that with each player's different positions, But that's neither here nor there. The problem with the Steelers is coach Tomlin is too damn conservative, he doesn't want the offense to take risks with the possibility of turnovers because he's relying on defense but the defensive is giving up too many yards because they're playing one-dimensional. We never have leads in these games if we can some how put up some points then we can play to our strength on defense which is rushing the quarterback.
@mike26874 күн бұрын
He's conservative with every aspect except with timeouts and challenge flags... look at what they're doing at LT--settling with an average at best player because he's "good enough" rather than playing Jones there to develop him... of course the injury to Troy has messed with that now but he should've been there since the Ravens game of last year. Invest in the 1st rounder and if he busts there then he busts, but at least take a swing rather than settling at the most expensive spot on the OL!
@DGRRvideos4 күн бұрын
Play to their strength puts it way too lightly. That entire stupid defensive zone scheme is solely reliant on pass rush pressure, which is why for years when highsmith/Dupree or God forbid TJ got hurt, they're dogshit on fire. If there's no pass rush pressure, there's receivers running wide ass open everywhere bc it's big brain mike playing stupid zone schemes that lay traps assuming the rush gets pressure by a certain time. Which is why when TJ gets triple teamed and there's 0 pressure on Dak last week it's just blown coverage everywhere.
@DGRRvideos4 күн бұрын

This all comes down to poor coaching. Tomlin is a mediocre head coach who doesn't do a great job of bringing in coaching talent. I can no longer ride the Tomlin bandwagon. The game has passed him by. I'm not willing to call Broderick a bust yet but this young offensive line needs a competent coach.

Exactly!! He seems to be "busting" quite a bit of talent these days that 31 other teams have scouted and had guys going right where they're supposed to go. But when we get our hands on them.... they're busts?? Time to start looking at the root of the problem!!

How can the game pass him by when he never was a good coach to begin with? He was fortunate to be hired by the steelers because anywhere else he would of been fired years ago.

A player’s effort is not a coach’s problem it’s the player.

Broderick Jones is still a very young developing lineman who in college used a two hand punch. Pat Mirer, the online coach, teaches independent punches because of the injury Jones sustained to the wrist and elbow of one of his arms he can't use that technique. So when he punches with two hands and it doesn't seem powerful, or it seems off,or he dislodges from a d lineman prematurely in pass pro on run blocking it's because of his wrist and elbow. That's why his play has been up and down. Some weeks, his elbow and wrist will feel good some weeks, and it will feel worse until he either does surgery or therapy. As you can see, there is nothing wrong with his feet there. We as fans move too quickly to proclaim players' busts and / or booms.
