As a fellow pies fan, I agree that he will always be loved by the magpie faithful. I dont agree with the thought that he should have taken a pay cut at all, That is in no way on him that was miss management by the club. He gave his heart and soul to the pies, and i wish hill all the best at the swans.

​@@moshtradamus9098firstly I'd just like to say Grundy was my favourite player at the pies since his second season. First season I believe he played the last 7-8 games of the season which caught my eye. Grundy was a superstar on the field and definitely one off the field. He deserved the big contract considering what he was doing at the time it was given to him. He did get injured and wasn't the same for what a good 3 years if not a fraction more. Yes Collingwood mishandled the whole situation horribly. Grundy saw the writing on the wall tho he wasn't keeping at the level required to be on the big bucks and he was on far to much money which evidently undid our 2018-19 squad.(we did pretty good to reset that but trading players for less than worth has meant we are not as strong as we could have been) He wouldn't have been the first person to rewrite a contract and take a pay cut for the team. He probably would be a premiership ruckman if he had of done so. Being injured the last few years is why I believe he decided to make the money decision instead. Unfortunately for Grundy he wasted another season moving to Melbourne who I believe treated him and the situation appallingly. The arrogance of Goodwin was surreal in the manner he spoke. The whole Grundy scenario is multiple faceted with different common sense perspectives. For lack of a better term it's definitely not all black and white. Hopefully Sydney do awful lol but Grundy and Adams strive and finish their careers strong (just not against us) as for Taylor Adams his move would have to be one of the more courageous ones I've seen and full kudos to him as he wouldn't be enjoying his last few years playing how and where he'd like.

@@moshtradamus9098 The offer was there for him to stay and he chose to not accept, he shouldn't be upset at the Pies at all, at the end of the day, it is a business after all. He could have either left and stayed on what he was already earning or stayed and taken a paycut.....He wasn't performing at the same level as 2017-2019 and Pies made a decision. I love Brodes, still one of my favourite players in the comp, will always have a soft spot for him.

I'm massively looking forward to see how the Duo of Taylor Adams and Brodie Grundy go at Sydney, Brodes was my favourite player when he was at the Pies, will always have a soft spot for him, same as Taylor, was unlucky to miss out on a Premiership last year, but best of luck to both of them in the future, hope they win a Premiership at the Swans in a few years.(I want Pies to win a few first)

@@Luke-ty2cj He is in no way a flog, or selfish, he was entitled to what he signed, not his fault the Pies decided to sign a 7 year deal at $1 Mil a year. At his best, he is a top 2 ruck in the comp, in 2018 and 2019 he was better than Gawn. Nothing says he can't get back to that form.

You need to be more aggressive on the park Brodie, throw your weight around and make your presence known. For a big dominant ruckman type you just lost the edge in your attack on the ball after signing the big contract. The Pies moving you on, using that money on Mitchell, McStay, Hill & Markov gave us the balanced team we needed to win a flag. Good luck in Sydney.

Honestly I'm happy for Brodes to be at the Swans, Dees were treating him like shit and we had no room for him at that kind of money, which he was entitled to. He is still one of my favourite players and an all round good bloke.

Ultimately cost the club 3 years. Arguably cost Buckley his job (we were deteriorating anyway) cost Grundy a premiership with his best footy mates. So all in all the prices were paid in full and in the end we benefited for paying those costs

Grundy is highly intelligent and likeable person, sort of person I'd like as a friend. However like all of us humans he has his flaws, probably focused too much on money, and apparently his attitude to rehab wasnt elite, and it cost him his spot in Collingwood and a Premiership. Will do well in life and doesnt need a premiership to do so.
