NASCAR has more fights and dramas and put it on their channel maybe getting to PC here... Auto Action didn't do an episode this week after giving Speedcafe a spray for reporting story and following meltdown at Erebus...

I too hope Brodie is doing ok, whatever is going on. Coke, Shaw and Partners and Southern Cross Truck Rentals have all pulled their sponsorship. I also hear the human headline has pulled the Boost naming rights from the Gold Coast no idea if that is Brodie related either as he is a Brodie backer. Some serious issues facing erebus, a shame after last year. Looking forward to the rest of the liveries, no pirzes for guessing what they DJR rigs will look like. Good work as usual, cheers.

Brodie seems to be hanging out with Will Brown Erebus going on business as usual Adderton personal sponsor and US sponsor of Brodie so pulling sponsorship to put pressure on Supercars in support of Brodie... Expect legal issues keeping everyone quiet and looking to resolve something by round 2...

Beginning to wonder if 888 didn't pick Stanaway to unsettle Erebus... Roland Dane had big dig at Ryan after Brodie issues Barry reaction in press conference at the Bend when talk of Brodie leaving for Nascar was brought up and Brown choosing better brand started issue with Coke vs Redbull or Erebus vs 888... Roland had issues in BTCC with Plato favouring other driver and letting/getting him penalised...

Typical corporate safety. Make sure you wearing a hard hat in case a 1.5 ton pellet falls off the Forklift ( like a hard hat would help). You are spot on Dave. I look at the Risk Assessment. What is the hazard? What is the risk (percentage of chance of a vehicle hitting a person not in a vehicle) What are the potential consequences. What are the mitigation strategies? As you observe it's OK to be hit by a touring car in the pits at 40 kph. You are correct Dave close the pits and caution yellow at 40 kph. The other hazard is spectator boredom and financial consequences for the Coporation (it is a business that makes money). Further dwindling crowds. There is your answer Dave profit before people and greed. They did the Risk Assessment and they ain't closing the pits and 40kph on track.

I'm not sure why they won't close the pits if there is a serious incident. I mean the current system is fine, but just have a proper system if there is a serious incident.

Hopefully we can see Brodie back again this year….I’ll never forget him overtaking Van Gisbergen at Bathurst a few years ago at the grate….unbelievably brave!

hey Dave hats off to you what an excellent video i couldn't have covered the Brodie Kostecki situation better myself great way of putting things into perspective. I to am wondering how Brodie is as there has been no work from him or his management so i hope he is a ok. But a quick question about the situation though do you think that another team could sign him and someone loses their drive as i thourght it would be way to late for that now i am expecting not to see him on the grid this year.

Pit lane speeds are based on the pit lane environment and spacing. Track is much wider with no cars entering/existing pit bays etc

Here is another problem Supercars has this year. It's just been announced that here in NZ we are going to be able to watch the entire season of NASCAR on free TV. I stopped following Supercars since they stopped showing it on free TV here and only pay to watch Bathurst now. But that is a nightmare sometimes due to buffering etc on Sky Sport. By the way, if anyone is interested, NASCAR will be on Channel Three Now.

hey Dave channel 9 were reporting from Winton today while the v8s were testing today and i don't know if they get inside information but they said Brodie will not be on the grid this year so i don't know if they are guessing or supercars or Erebus have confirmed news about him to channel 9.

This is a big opportunity for Hazelwood if it turns into a full time drive. I felt he tailed off pretty heavily over the second half of 2022 and he was disappointingly anonymous last year. It's just a shame that everything at Erebus seems to be collapsing around them: Shaw and Partners have gone, so have Coca-Cola. They need to stop the rot. I would say the VSC isn't a bad thing, though that may be because I'm so used to it in F1 and Formula E. I will say though that if the medical crew needs to get to an incident you'll probably be under safety car conditions anyway, so not quite sure about your argument there. The Kostecki saga has come out of nowhere and it's a shame. He's a pretty damn good driver and was a thoroughly deserving champion. However, I still think the ingredients for a good title fight are there, even though the reigning champion isn't racing. You have Brown and Feeney at Triple Eight for instance, we might be able to see what Le Brocq and Hazelwood are made of at Erebus, and if the Fords are on it then you can bet Waters and Mostert especially will be contenders. I hope DJR can fight back and Grove could be dark horses; if they still had Reynolds I'd be more certain in that opinion, but I don't know what to make of Stanaway; Payne could be fun to watch this year though. The WAU cars look great, and I actually quite like the squiggles. The Grove cars look quite mean in matte. I like the Triple Eight, it's an improvement on last year, and they've kept it in matte which still gives that 2017 vibe which in my opinion can only be a good thing. BJR: Fullwood's car looks the same (and Heimgartner's is erm... interesting with an image of him on the bonnet). And as for BRT, the CoolDrive car looks really nice as always, and the Snowy River Caravans looks great as well, though I'm not quite sure about the black at the back end of the car. Whether it's better than it was at Tickford, I'm not sure yet!

The issue with the safety car now, you have 2 laps of full speed racing after its called before the pit sequence plays out, so around Bathurst, that could be a good 4 minutes before medical/fire/etc can get near a car. Even with these VSC rules, its safer, but the cars will be running slower, so it will take longer. If you have a system where you can shut the pits for a serious incident, you can attend the scene straight away. Totally agree about the title fight, its blown it wide open (unless Feeney goes on a Whincup like tear) and Reynolds has to be spewing as now he'd be going in as one of the absolute favourites if he was still with Grove

Anton and Will leaving, sure. Any driver up or down pit lane would sign a contract before a number was rolled out for either of those two teams. BUT, SVG has been quoted that Barry Ryan was the reason he left SBR during the Erebus hand over. And we saw - on camera - the dummy spit Mr Ryan did on the Gold Coast a few years ago (pre-covid seems several lifetimes ago and people tend to have a short memory) That was the act of a child. What happens when the cameras aren't rolling? It wasn't just David Reynolds walking away from a 10 year deal, MOST of the team walked as well. When a company (in any industry) has a problem retaining staff, the staff are generally not the problem. And Betty Klimenko is also partially responsible, in my view. For her to allow to continue, and apologise for, Barry's seemingly poor behavior, Betty has formally endorsed this rubbish. I mean, we're not in the 1950's anymore and toxic workplaces are just awful to be in. I've been in my fair share. THe VSC @ 80KPH: I understand what you're saying about the PLSL BUT you have a very high concentrations of people meandering in Pit Lane. AND they wander around mindlessly. Should it happen? NO, but it does happen. ON Track, however, there is also greater room to maneuver (I presume they'll still have steering wheels in the cars in 2024 - and with the exception of places like the Gold Coast, of course) on track, so an 80kph limit is better suited on track. It affects the cars less. Remember, though, this isn't replacing Safety Cars all together. These are just where a tractor has to pull a car out of a sand trap, and the like. I envisage that the SC will still be brought out when there is a significant incident (requiring Medical intervention) that can better manage the field or bring them to a halt, entirely, when a red flag is needed. Craig Lowndes is always listed in the Wildcard Enduro events as the primary driver, but it does seem daft to pull Garth Tander and Jamie Whincup out of contention of starting the race. Even Warren Luff.

I think the LED thing worked really well on the IndyCar ovals, or even for long distance sports car races as its hard to follow sometimes, but for our category, you can follow whats going on usually and its not really needed I don't think

vsc will probably be ok, co driver ban starting is just stupid. so many rumors and stuff on kostecki/erebus, for so many sponsors to leave its gotta be something more than a disagreement. favourite livery by a long shot is heimgartners car (with the standard pizza hut bonnet) and i really like the groves, everyone else has been to much copy paste

My theory on the Brodie stuff I think after running at indy Brodie want to run nascar maybe it was more then Erubus would want and it became a contract issue plus Brodie being not 100% maybe things got ugly the sponsor leaving that shocked me I have nothing on that
