Great video Alan, as a relatively young bloke looking down the barrell of buying a farm with a full time job to juggle you're insight and experience has been brilliant.

Had the same problem with ewes Alan not coming to milk straight away but after a few days after an injection they came to milk I'm convinced it was the strength and no growth in the grass not enough nutrition
@Patient-Unknown3 жыл бұрын
How do you fix the grass problem ?
@adreenryan29013 жыл бұрын
@@Patient-Unknown you need to get the soil tested . Don't test yourself you will have to send it away like sending water away it will tell you everything that's in the soil.
@shaned5103 жыл бұрын
You can't really it's the weather or get ur soil tested might need more nitrogen or lime or phosphate or whatever

Didnt have any luck with AI years ago, but then with beef cattle once their out their out and you might only see them bulling in the evenings by time had someone out next day the window has gone, reckon the big success rate dairy has is down to they walk them 4 times a day from and to the fields and going through the parlour/ yard twice a day so can catch them bulling as soon as it starts
@jwhitley101whitleyfarms93 жыл бұрын
We run registered bulls and they were off ai cows and they are gentle,calve easy, growth and clones of there daddy couldn't ask for more. I'm sure you will be in the same boat once you get the bull you want. He can take a marginal cow and make her heifer 3x better then her mother.
