"I use every bit of that horsepower everyday" -Meyer "This setup is NOT rated for this much horsepower, but if I get another 9 months out of this build 👌" -Meyer Killin me dude! Between all the rigs racing out of this shop...........you guys got er dialed in!! The engine department is even coming around.........Josh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!! Sorry pard, couldn't resist lmfao. But you keep going right back at er and that's what counts, people can say what they want but the fact is chit's gonna happen and chit's gonna break whether it's operator or mechanical...........you keep on swingin and that's what counts in my book.

Great video. Fun to watch Myer work on these transmissions. Breezes through them. How much time, not in time lapse does a normal build take?
@pddofficial4 жыл бұрын
A good builder can completely tear down, clean, refresh, upgrade, and build a whole Dodge 47 or 48re unit including valve body upgrades with test stand time and finish paint in one 8 hour shift. Newer builders that are still learning how to be efficient can build 2 or 3 complete transmissions in 1 40 hour work week.

Brake Cleaner that is refilled from a 55 gallon drum and charged with compressed air.... much cheaper than burning through a case of brake cleaner on each build.

I saw that truck on the side of the road last week? Or the week before on Westview Drive. Was this when the shaft broke? Great video BTW, thank you for sharing the video with us.

Can the input shaft be installed without removing valvebody or oil pan
@myerstump83104 жыл бұрын
The 2nd gear band has to be removed, so it might be possible to finagle, but probably not worth the effort.

I got a few questions. What valve did he stack the springs in the 1-2 shift valve or the 2-3 shift valve. Also I see ur only using one spring for the od instead of the 3 or 4 red springs that transgo uses whats the reason for this firmer of shift.
@pddofficial4 жыл бұрын
That's the 2-3 shift valve, sometimes with worn bores in the VB, stiffer springs provide more exact shift timing on a full manual VB setup. On the OD accumulator spring, there really isn't a ton of difference between stock, 3 red Transgo, or heavy single spring especially with the restriction plug in the accum.

1000HP Cummins is nice. But have you ever Destroyed a 47RE by building a 6.7 with a VP44 pump swap for a 99 Dodge 3500?

Well I have a brand new stock tranny that I'm getting ready to pull apart replace the accumulator vb and input shaft as well as a torque convert er from georend. That trans should hold well I'm only running about 600 horse max at this point in time. Plan to get to these guys and get a couple dyno runs done see real world figures. But the old trans died from use abuse and age. Iv got this one built and the replacement was a hurry up I need the truck it lastef 7000 miles. All stock build stock tqc vb and all stock lockup as well. It just could not hold not sure what gave out in it but lost all foreward gears still has reverse. Have fun guys
@adrianmilissa92714 жыл бұрын
Is that a 47 or 48 trans? I am sure it’s obvious but not to this eyeball lol. Adrian
@pddofficial4 жыл бұрын
It's a 47re transmission. 48 and 47 are very interchangeable and have a ton of compatible parts they share. This truck has a 47re case so the factory harness and neutral safety switch would hook up more easily without cutting wires or adapting. But technically, it could be stuffed full of 48re parts if/when the 47re parts fail. Would you like us to do a video showing the differences between 48re and 47re internals?
@adrianmilissa92714 жыл бұрын
@@pddofficial Heck yea that would be cool and very informative. You guys built my 48re in my 05. So I was trying to find clues to see if it was either. Thanks Adrian

@@pddofficial i would like to see em i know the 48 has better planets and another clutch in the direct drum and the 48 has speed sensors and a some other electric parts there is no govner on the 48 and there late common rail was drive by wire

@@pddofficial Definitely would like to see a video on differences and interchangeable parts... Plan on building up a 47RH for my first gen here, sooner rather than later.. the 518 isn't doing so well anymore
