This is so Mike Jackson. Also, the goosebumps I get from this show. Unmatched.

I know this is a few years old, but this was the first time I've watched this show. First, this was just epic. Second, shout out to the synth player for that awesome, smooth recovery! As a synth player myself, freaking loved seeing that recovery! And third...interesting they had two drum set players, and no rack players. It definitely worked, and I liked it...just, interesting to see that

My favorite show!!! Love how every single one of the ensemble members portrays so much emotion throughout the whole show. Especially the woman at the end who appeared to be crying or at least acting really well. 9:07 I appreciate her.

Gabe Boquiren what happened?
@gbrlbqrn7 жыл бұрын
The first chord didn't register. The drumline and synth still were together, and the next chord was played. Smallest hiccup ever.
@stevenherman35957 жыл бұрын
Smallest hiccup ever = duts from the floor consistently staying at 208 to keep the visual going while the synth recovered and finally aligning at the end of the first drumset fill. Scariest moment I've ever had on my last performance ever. It worked out lol
@verifiedfinance58626 жыл бұрын
Steven Herman thanks for clearing that up! I still wake up at night thinking how these guys pulled that off. Serious creds to you guys!

Joey Marchese the synth died and the center marimba learned the part and played it, saving the show

The midi settings were just not set correctly. There was nothing except the vocal samples, but Tyger kept cool, played his drum fill, and we got the midi working in time for the second piano chord entrance.

Everything about that show is gorgeous, but that ending though. Chills everywhere.

This is what happens when your whole state is focused on winning. You take top 3. 2016 was the year of the Californians.
@Broseb1238 жыл бұрын
I was really never about winning to be honest. After prelims I was happy to even be in 6th, not to mention the 3/4th place we were in after semis. The vibe i got from marching here wasn't about winning, but just to have a damn good show
@brothaNblue8 жыл бұрын
+Sebastian Broman well you still can't deny the the absolute domination California had in world class this year. Like what the heck is going on over there.
@Broseb1238 жыл бұрын
+BrothaNBlue2 totally man. And it's just a lot of drummers all competing for the few spots there is. Also it's worth to mention dark sky also making finals this year!
@nathangarratt90917 жыл бұрын
And then you see Goshen as the only non-California medalist
@brothaNblue7 жыл бұрын
+Nathan Garratt What class? Because I'm pretty sure Pulse, RCC, and Broken City got top 3 in independent world. Then Ayala, Chino Hills, and Arcadia got top 3 in scholastic world.

Ngl I liked the silence at the beginning. Not entirely sure why, it gave it an eerie feel but it fits in my opinion. Idk it’s kinda cool 😂

Really wish i had the time to audition here at BCP or at BK, i only have time for one audition this year. I am still incredibly young but i want to get to world class. I have already had 3 DCI and 2 WGI seasons in Independent open and I is 17

Question- without the sample at the beginning, how did the whole floor know when to start? Let alone at the same time
@CaptainKylan8 жыл бұрын
The keyboard player appears to count them off with his left hand
@MareyaReyaDick7 жыл бұрын
It was actually a little bit of luck as well; one of the front ensemble players heard the count-off of one of the battery, with the drummer coming in just in the knick of time. What a way to start!!

Wait, so what happened at the beginning? Was there not supposed to be silence?
@pitstarproductions77928 жыл бұрын
+HanaHoVideo The other guy's MIDI controller got transposed up an octave somehow - I was lucky enough to catch it early and had to switch it back down while sampling my part at the same time
