I'm still huffing that Emma Frost copium. I would love for Mystique and Magneto to show up in a wave or two where we get villain hero packs and hero scenarios. They mentioned in the first MC livestream after they announced Iceman that the current long release cycle isn't planned to be the norm just that there are production issues preventing them from releasing them as fast or together. The most likely scenario is SWU is using production capability. Rouge and Gambit are a good example of ally combos. They are extremely powerful together but still useful if used separately

I like the idea of a Rogue & Professor X combo where X can confuse the villain, thwart for 3, Rogue can use her ability on X, thwart for 5 more, and then X can block. X's 3rd hit point is rarely utilized before he leaves play and this would be a good way to use it. I also think there's going to be some kind of sword upgrade for a +1 attack stat, and possibly a retaliate 1 to play into all the defending he will be doing.

Everything in his kit requires Bamf! I'm guessing there is minimum 4 copies if there is a signature ally. 5 if not.

@TheMaskedHero apparently my son told me there is lore reason it could be, they are like little blue demons that kind of listen to Nightcrawler. It would expand his abilities a lot, 3 Bamf! defense cards and 1 ally thats recurable? I'd be down for it!

@@D20Woodworking Magneto arguably makes more sense from the storyline perspective for this wave but not doing Mystique would be such a missed opportunity for this type of game. The design space has infinite possibilities really! I’m team Mystique all the way.

I just noticed that Gambit ally doesn’t tell you to shuffle the deck, does that mean you get to know the other top 2 cards? I know it’s assumed when you search decks you shuffle them, but just looking at them I feel is different?

Usually searching the entire deck is when you're told to shuffle. When looking at the top X cards, it's usually either just back in the same order or they might tell you you're allowed to put them back in the order you choose

Man Nightcrawler looks like he'll be a blast to play. I wasn't too excited over Jubilee and Iceman made me more excited for Rogue and Valkyrie honestly lol, so it's nice to see a strong start for Nightcrawler. I wonder if he'll have his sword as a +1 attack upgrade. Also, team Magneto 100%.

This looks like it's a Caleb design. Neat mechanics to port Nightcrawler around, very thematic. These prot. cards look like a bit of power creep, but i suppose it could also be looked at as shoring up weaker areas of protection (that side scheme is bonkers).

The cost curve has to be low for for events that use bampf as a cost because it is being considered a 2ER card. The thwart event being 2ER for 3 thwart and 4ER for 6 thwart is good. FFG has a history of under-costing or over-costing unique effects and costs.

Rogue with She-Hulk can add 7 attack to her. 9 attack ally sounds good to me. Drax is another hero (who prefers protection too) that can easily get high attack. Spider Ham wouldn’t mind taking 1 damage either to give her some extra stats.

My guess for his cards based on the hero numbering and the pack numbering: 1: Signature ally 2: Sword(s) upgrade 3: Either other sword or another upgrade 4: Signature support (a church that heals and lets us shuffle a bambf! from discard to deck?) 5-7: Bambf! (which is card 5 for the hero and card 6 in the set, so there will be 3 copies) 8-9: Port and punch (card 8 for the hero and card 7 in the set, so there will be 2 copies) 10: Teleport drop (card 9 for the hero and card 8 in the set, so there will be 1 copy) 11-12: Scout ahead (card 11 for the hero and card 9 in the set, so there will be 2 copies) 13: Port away (card 12 for the hero and card 10 in the set, so there will be 1 copy) 14-15: Tally Yo! (card 13 for the hero and card 11 in the set, so there will be 2 copies)

I'm leaning he won't get an ally, he'll get 5 Bamfs because of his cost dependency needs (so 1-5), but I do agree he should get a sword upgrade and a monastery support. The rest will be events, be my guess.

Theres only 3 Bamfs in his kit. Theyre numbered 5, 6 and 7. First 4 cards are unknown. Definitely will be a sword upgrade (prob +1 atk and retaliate 1).

You want at least 4 Bamfs in his set, maybe a 5th, because some cards need you to discard from hand or distribute to enemies to pay for costs of cards. He does look fun. One of my friend's called dibs so fast when they revealed him. I honestly am leaning Justice as my first play with him.

Looking at the hero silhouettes from the first announcement, I’d say the last hero won’t be Mags or Mystique, it’ll be Multiple Man or Forge.

Lots of people been saying magneto. Their is a comic panel of magneto sitting in a chair in a similar pose as the final silhouette of the upcoming hero's.

I'm also going to guess that since it's the final xmen cycle for now they want to end it with a bang and have a popular character be the final hero. Magneto is probably the most popular capstone villain in the game. Be pretty cool having the boss as a playable character.

@@metascrub285 Got it. I have to confess Age of Apocalypse isn't a story arc I've read (Marvel's dark days). Looking at it now, I can see that it's obviously Magneto. Like the Marvel version of AoA, Magneto is depicted as a hero in FFG's little book as well. I had been suspecting Beast, but Beast vs. Dark Beast does not fit story wise or campaign wise.

D20, you should do a short on the speculation of the final hero, and what images people are comparing to the silhouette. A dark side of me believes it to be Dazzler in a dance looking pose as the silhouette. I have called Iceman, Jubilee, and Nightcrawler all correct so far... I hope instead it could be Mystique, Magneto, Multipleman, Havoc... Jeez, anyone but...
