Grant basically you have a bunch of pennycress out there on that field so a winter annual. Run a fall post harvest application of something like 8oz of a metribuzin like sencor/glory etc and 8oz of 2,4-D and that will help clean a lot of those up for the spring and help reduce pressure on herbicides in the spring. Nice thing is that in the fall you can spray over your ditches/grass waterways and help clean those up also. Similarly, some guys may recommend dicamba instead of the metribuzin. Also, for a not super expensive investment consider adding a bearing race and seal driver kit if you ever need to replace a whole setup. Not completely necessary but is nice to have.

Having done that exact repair- all the way up to a 5" dia rod- It's imperative to get the rod end solid to the cross piece.. and it has to be EXACTLY Square...But, that being said - Let er Wobble! it'll work til it breaks... ut keep the rod out a little farther to keep the gland seals from getting hot..

Get a drawbar reducer. It will slide right over your current drawbar and allow you to hook up to smaller implements
@ttroy48042 жыл бұрын
Grant future reference, next time you have a creek to cross, build a "low water Crossing", usually pretty simple. Hey on that field cultivator hitch, you have the clevis for a straight drawbar, if you want to save some money, you 2 weld a 1 1/4" bushing in that thing, essentially turning it into the Yoke type Hitch (that was offered forever) then it will hook right up to your tractor clevis there @ 1223.

I have a easy mig also. They are great beginner welders. But I would drop the flux core asap. Mine and I suppose yours has the ability to hook up the gas and that is the way to go. Way better welds with gas.
@SpencerTV2 жыл бұрын
Yeah thought it would be a good first unit. Why is going with gas so much beter than flux core? I have seen a lot of debate on this. Makes sence that it speeds up the process and is a lot cleaner, but does it actually create a better weld strength? New to all this so thought gasless would be easier for right now.
@Shedhauler2 жыл бұрын
@@SpencerTV yeah I don’t know if I can explain the whole process. But all I can share is my experience. Just my opinion that it does a cleaner weld and penetrates better. I struggled with the flux core for a year before I switched and I won’t go back.
