the edgebander in the shop suddenly stopped working properly and required a new part to be fabricated. parts for old machines just aren't available so you have to make your own.

Love it! Every old-timer pack-rat's dream... take that part you saved and had kicking around for 20 years just in case and make it work to fix a major problem. Like you planned it.
