hi our sweet friends. we missed you so much last week. thanks for being so kind and supportive in giving us a week off during the holidays. ♡
today we bring you an intense episode! we discuss what to do if you have childhood trauma, come from a broken family, have toxic parents, or struggle with boundaries with loved ones. we then discuss at length the importance of the family unit-- how the enemy wants nothing more than to destroy the biblical design of family that God intended for us. we cover how to overcome the enemy's attacks on your family and how to pursue PEACE in even the most toxic familial relationships. we encourage you in realizing your true authority through Jesus and that you have the ability to end generational curses. any toxicity can and will end with you.
also, we both describe our childhoods and family dynamics growing up & now :)
we hope this video blesses you and reminds you that you're not alone-- family dysfunction is universal and it does not define you.
we pray that the Lord Jesus speaks to you today and that you have ears to hear.

As someone who was abandoned by both parents by age 15 my favorite Bible verse is Psalms 27:10 “When my mother and father forsake me the Lord will take me up.” (KJV) This verse really makes me feel seen by my Heavenly Father so I wanted to share for anyone else that might relate.

Greetings from Vancouver B. C. I was a victim of the "60's scoop". I was raised in foster homes and group homes and never got attached to anyone. I was drawn to Jesus in 1982 at the age of 22 around the third week of June. I was baptized very soon after. I took it as, "this is forever". There is an overwhelming sense of security in that thought. Now I eagerly await His appearing.

Hi Gabriela, I hope you're well ,I felt lead in the spirit to tell you that , I felt you are really struggling between your Christian life and the world, I don't know you , but I feel that sin overcomes you many times and then you feel bad , You do not need to focus on what wrongs you do , but rather focus on making Gods word the standard of you're life, Because emotions can change every hour, today you could be happy, next day sad , the following day glad, but faith is based on reading Gods word and speaking out what he says about your life, and stay far from wrong people and friends, as that will cause you to make many wrong decisions, try to associate with spiritual Christians , do this and remember the world is our enemy, that is why we are in the world but don't be apart of it , for we are citizens of heaven waiting to go to our true home with Jesus, may God bless you with the grace that you need to get closer to God and father away from this word , God bless sis, and see you in heaven one day 😁😇

My parents are in the midst of divorce and it felt me so broken. Three weeks ago today, I dropped alcohol and I prayed and cried out to God. It felt like a huge weight lifted off my chest, I’m extremely grateful He put this podcast in my path to lean on.

Keep praying Jesus will release in you a new Spirit ,you will get stronger keep pressing forward reading God's word He Loves you We Love you I was in the 12 step program AA many years ago but finding God is what changed me!!! Find a good Church and you will find New friends that God will put in your path to help you through this time and you will find Joy in your Heart again with Jesus and a new way of Life helping others that will go through the same thing your going through now your story will become your strength In Jesus Name Amen

One of my biggest reality checks was realizing that I can't be the savior, only Jesus can. It's painful when you don't learn to set boundaries and you feel so responsible for the well-being of others especially within your household as the only believing member. However, I know I am not alone in that and He has called me to be still and know that He is God. Walking in the fruit of the Spirit takes intentionality and it's hard! BUT God is faithful.

I love what you said in your first sentence! We are called to follow Jesus and be like Jesus, but we can’t BE Jesus, and we don’t have the power to change people’s hearts ourselves.

As someone who was adopted, and have issues in both families adopted and biological I’ve been dealing with Childhood PTSD, depersonalization and derealization and existential anxiety. I’ve been seeking God and y’all were the first people I saw. I feel like I have two Christian sisters when I watch this. I’m very grateful you guys are here because I feel so so alone all of the time. It’s made me want to not be here anymore. I really am struggling to have strong faith and it’s all I want.

Make sure your baptism is in the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 2 38 KJV is the only way out past sins are remitted. Then if we sit after that we get on our knees as for forgiveness and if we forsake our sin he will cleanse us from all unrighteousness with his blood.

I come from both sides of those types of family dynamics, and I relate to both Angela and Arielle when it comes to what their growing up experiences were like. I've been the peacemaker of my family for years. It is my God-given purpose to change my family's history and rise above my own limitations, and in this journey, those around me will rise up too. Up until I started watching GGB podcasts, I didn't know what that next step was for me. Now I think I do.

This podcast gives me so much hope and reassurance in the faith. The conversations you have with each other always make me excited to read the word and talk to Jesus. I’ve been struggling heavy with how to share my faith and spread the Gospel. I know that Jesus hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but this is an area where spiritual warfare is at its heaviest in my life.

I needed this video, lately my family member has been living with me and my boyfriend and he doesnt do anything around the house and leaves a mess for us to clean up so ive been feeling so unappreciated and feeling like im being taken advantage of and it hurts, it makes me angry and hearing this gives me courage to believe that god will give me the strength, patience, forgiveness and understanding in this situation ❤ Thank you guys so much for talking about this

Kindness towards hostile or desperate family members usually improves the situation. It's not complicated, if you give love you'll get it back. Maybe not immediately but it will help change thier attitudes in the long run. You're both very lovely girls with good hearts. That's what is most important... ❤

I feel like it's so easy to say that no matter what your parents may do to you you'll always forgive them maybe because you had a good childhood. But if you were to have abusive parents, the case would've been different.

Forgiveness is for you. Truly when you forgive a weight is lifted off of you and there is piece because no bitterness or strongholds are over you from the things you remember in the past. The things of the past will not control your life when you let go. Jesus comes in and you allow room for the Holy Spirit to completely heal you

This has been a eye opening experience for me. I just dreaeded the holidays because some of my family is in heaven. As much as that hurts, I am so glad they are free of suffering. I have this Heavenly Father that remind me that I am never alone, this life I have been given is precious. Even through the dysfuction and chaos. I can always look to God and say thanks for the brokeness beecause its real. I can have the upmost strength from Jesus to be a better version of myself and love everyone. As Ari said trauma bulids character and humility!

WOW! So inspiring and so so touching! I love hearing your stories and I truly can relate to both of you. My family is my Serbia so we are EXTREMELY hard headed as well. It can be a blessing but also such a curse. Even though I had a good childhood, it was so broken as well. I carry so much hurt & sadness in my heart. Learning to slowly forgive and let go. 37:59 Thank you so much Ari for sharing your story with your mom. I relate so much to it, I recently just forgave my mom after a year of no contact because Jesus was placing it on my heart to do so. We didn't deserve the things we went through but like you said I wouldn't change one thing about my suffering because it's shaped me into the person I am. My mom deserves forgiveness, she's an imperfect person just like you and I.

Hey, I've been watching your podcast for some time and I'm new to this and you guys have now idea how much this means to people listening. You have helped me a lot to understand some things. I'm albanian too so I felt Angela's story when you guys were on Happy and Healthy Podcast and I really wanna be like you some day and it would really help probably a lot more than just me if you guys did an episode where you talk about how can beginners get closer to Jesus and live our life as God wants us to. I'm a new Christian, and in the way I'm finding myself so alone very often because of my family and old friends all being so disrespectful towards my faith and Christianity and everything, but then I remember that even though I might have no one in the flesh, I have something they don't have and that is the active presence of the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ our Lord within my heart. He is everything to me right now and even though ever since I started following him everything has been falling appart, He is still showing me the way and warming my soul every day. Thank You so much Jesus for everything you've done and keep doing for me. Amen

32:25 i think you are underestimate the effects of abandonment. Neglect is the silent abuse and until you are older you dint know the effects of it. Such long term effects would be trouble with relationships and not being able to set boundaries. It is now being termed childhood emotional neglect. And there are ways to overcome this lack of emotional development.
