if there are any doctors/surgeons here i wanna explain my situation when i was three years old, i smashed my middle finger with a weight and my bone fractured into many many pieces. i don’t remember much since i was at such a young age, but my finger is deformed from it. my nail was shoved inwards and to the side, making one side ingrown (it doesn’t hurt), there seems to be some weird cartilage lines on the top of my finger, and most importantly, i cant bend the joint above my fingernail. i am thirteen years old, and i want to play guitar, but my half-disabled finger prevents me from properly reaching frets to do chords and such. i have been thinking about getting surgery to fix it, so i ask, would it be possible to fix? and how would it be fixed? i know id definitely need to do physical therapy. how long would the healing process be?

My grandfather broke one of his fingers so badly it had to be amputated at the second joint due to lack of blood flow to the finger tip. A nasty injury but it healed surprisingly fast considering it was crushed in a machine.

I'm after having something very similar but hopefully lucky enough to keep the tip. My tip got crushed in work, fractured into 3 pieces. It got crushed so bad the tip was flat as a pancake. Don't ask how but looking like a full recovery. Week 2 now and healing ok it seems. My finger burst at the top so infection is the main avoidance at the moment.

@@k0alaa it was jammed really bad, I got an X-ray on it and there was nothing wrong so they splinted it because I couldn't move it, it felt like it was breaking everytime it bent. I had to wear a splint for about 3ish weeks, then it wasn't painful there just wasn't as much mobility in that finger for a few months, like it I grabbed something that finger wouldn't bend down. But now it's back to normal. Edit: if you KNOW it's not broken you can just splint it yourself and save money on an unessesary hospital trip, if it's just jammed literally all they can do for you is splint it. But you can buy your own splint for less than $5 at Walmart or something. I think even if it's broke all they can do is splint it too, but Idk.

@@k0alaa mine was swollen and slightly bruised. I'd splint it even if you don't decide to go to the hospital just so you don't keep bumping it on things. It's really up to you if you think you need to go, I'm not sure how dangerous an untreated broken finger can be but I think all they really can do is splint it either way, I may be wrong though.

It sounds like a middle stick distal fracture, i am not sure, since i cant see the finger. I would recomend to go to a doctor and get it checked :)

So idk if my fingers fine and just bruised or what but it was so so swollen first day, then purple ouchy bruise, 3 days later doesnt hurt but it’s super red/purple so idk. I’m too scared to go to the doctors I hate it 😭

somebody pls tell me what's happening w my fingers, one day i was just cracking some bones but my middle finger wouldn't crack for some reason, but i pushed it so hard to make it crack but it didn't, i didn't really feel anything but the next day i couldn't move it a bit and it was starting to swell. my middle finger was slightly fatter than my other fingers or it was like swelling. i tried to massage it but it hurt even more, i pressed the bone in my middle finger then it started to hurt like hell, now i can't bend them since it hurts but it still moves a little bit

Guys, I was riding my BMX and I fell forward and my ring finger went into the tire somehow and it hurts a lot an hour later…it hurts like 💩 when I touch the bone 😭😭. I’ll keep you guys updated Edit: Turns out my finger was bruised…it’s fully healed now

Mine got hurt cuz my cousin accidentally throwed basketball ball in my hand.. And it hurts its starting being fat than my normal finger and I can move it like when ever I put my up and down it hurt I can't sleep very well..

My advice in the uk from the nurse was remove buddy taped finger after 7 days.... And start streching and open and closed so to get hand strengthened. Here it says keep splinted for 4 weeks. Im confused with alot of varied advice...

Same here,my doctor told me to review after 2 weeks and here it said 4 weeks and additional 2 weeks;confused and scared pretty much,can't tell a doctor that I'm watching YT!

I broke my left index kickboxing and I thought it was just bruised turns out after an x Ray it’s broken the plastic surgeon says because of how it’s broken and set in the right place I don’t need surgery but I got to keep my splint on 24 7 no matter what it’s fell of accidentally like three times now shits sketchy
