"Hand drawing the wood grain" holy moley...way above and beyond. Most excellent work.👍 Everyone that I know whose had a headstock/neck joint repaired has said the guitar plays and sounds better for it. Itd be nice if Gibson/Epiphone offered scarfed necks options from the factory.
@TON-guitarworkshop4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Well the joint is much stronger after repair but I don’t know if that effects the playability or not, maybe it’s in the finish job and the hand slides smoother on the neck.

Fantastic work. I repaired my acoustic guitar. The neck wasn't completely off, but fractured. Titebond and clamps did the trick. But the labour cost for this epi, here in the Uk, would be around £400 for 3 days. You'd have to love that guitar.

I love watching you perform your craft, and I've watched many neck repair vids, but I can't help but wonder why people just don't get a completely new neck rather than repairing the broken one
@TON-guitarworkshopАй бұрын
This is a neck-through guitar, meaning the neck and body are fused together from one piece of wood so you can’t simply replace the neck as you would on a fender stratocaster for example.

You probably heard me banging my head into my tablet furiously, screaming “what the bloody hell are you doing to that georgous old blonde Epiphone, sir?” I bow to you. A unique execution that no doubt left the neck stronger than when it left the factory! I’m quite certain; the owner cried like a baby when it hit the ground, however I am also quite certain he was ecstatic to see the old girl come home…Good on ya’ and God bless…

When you glued in the patch on the back of the neck, were you worried about glue getting in the truss rod channel and affecting the truss rod?
@TON-guitarworkshop4 ай бұрын
Nope, after a while you get a sense of how much glue to put on so that it doesn’t squeeze out in the channel.

I know you are..."The Master" but when Appling glue to the block and neck...why do you allow glue to get on the truss rod? Is the movable components in the truss rod internal so glue on the rod makes no difference for future neck adjustments? Just curious. Thanks...Great Work!👍😉
@TON-guitarworkshop3 ай бұрын
The truss rod works 100% after the repair, done and tested this method hundreds of times. There is very little glue getting in the truss rod cavity which is wide enough that it doesn’t impact the truss rod in any way.

Very impressive, great work for an amazing result ! I have a question though.Focusing on the playability-reliability issues only, wasn't gluing solid enough after the first step of the process ? Did you really need to carve these woood parts and add them to the neck ? The result wouldn't have been as stunning for sure, but I am curious about it.
