"Hand drawing the wood grain" holy moley...way above and beyond. Most excellent work.👍 Everyone that I know whose had a headstock/neck joint repaired has said the guitar plays and sounds better for it. Itd be nice if Gibson/Epiphone offered scarfed necks options from the factory.
@TON-guitarworkshop4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Well the joint is much stronger after repair but I don’t know if that effects the playability or not, maybe it’s in the finish job and the hand slides smoother on the neck.

You probably heard me banging my head into my tablet furiously, screaming “what the bloody hell are you doing to that georgous old blonde Epiphone, sir?” I bow to you. A unique execution that no doubt left the neck stronger than when it left the factory! I know you are..."The Master" but when Appling glue to the block and neck...why do you allow glue to get on the truss rod? Is the movable components in the truss rod internal so glue on the rod makes no difference for future neck adjustments? Just curious. Thanks...Great Work!👍😉
@TON-guitarworkshop3 ай бұрын
The truss rod works 100% after the repair, done and tested this method hundreds of times. There is very little glue getting in the truss rod cavity which is wide enough that it doesn’t impact the truss rod in any way.

Brilliant repair blending air brush work 👍 The unfortunate thing with Les Paul’s & Epiphone’s are the neck angle to great having these issues & hopefully head stock don’t break again! My idea on top yours is to remove fretboard & route out for rectangular titanium rods each side truss rod deep enough to go under nut through into head stock as much as possible, bit of a job but only way I can think of. I’m making Les Paul soon but with titanium rods & only less degrees head stock angle plus better action like a Telecaster plus other areas Gibson could have improved on. Pick ups I love best on the sound of Les Paul

All the glue inside the truss rod was a little sloppy, Wondering what kind of "white" wood used in the two pieces of the repair. Also in the initial glue up more care should of been used in making sure the two pieces fit cleanly together. No mention of "weeding" out any bits of wood that could of prevented a seamless gap between the two parts. Nice finishing work. You would have to look really close to tell it was broken. Great work.
