Mael hits like a wet noodle in PvP (3 characters on the field) so just target liz and your good. If mael had more attack related stats then he would be better, but all he really is used for is his passive and maybe his damage reduce on his aoe

Escanor worked with purg meli, king worked with traitor meli, so yes, you can assume that liz will work with the new meli. However, their most optimal setup will be on their 'race' teams. Especially in the case of demons. Demons still have way too much, they have 3-4 viable backline units, true form chandler, true form cusack, green zeldris, nanashi, 2 tanks, dk and blue chandler, and a god tier support in blue estarossa. Literally, the only thing they need to be relevant is a turn 1 dps who can hold the line for 2 turns when dk switches from a tank to a dps. My point is that yes, liz will 'work' with the new meli, demons will likely be the better team. That's how it's been every year.
