I’m trying really really hard to like the modern hardcore sound with those “zaag/uptempo/piep/..kicks” for a while now, but I just can’t. I’m doing my best to embrace it, but it’s just not for me (and that’s fine). I also really don’t want to hate it, because even tough I personality don’t like it, I understand other people do, and it deserves its place in the scene. But what does bother me, is the feeling that it is getting forced on every hardcore enthousiast. Nearly every hardcore party/festival/event has to be focussed on uptempo, while other genres are left behind. I really hope all the other genres of hardcore (early, millennium, terror,…) get some more love again, so in the furure everyone can enjoy their favorite hardcore sound to the fullest.

Perfectly summarized. You're absolutely right. Hardcore is taking a turn that doesn't please me. Now it's a little melody then 4 minutes of disgusting kick. There's nothing left to dance to. Just a spinning head. I don't know who is at the origin of this deviance but it's not okay.
